SRO America is preparing for another groundbreaking season ahead, and the organization is seeking to carry the momentum and continue its growth even further. At the forefront of this movement, the series is aiming to create unparalleled experiences for fans, drivers, and partners alike. As the opening rounds gradually approach, Greg Gill, President of SRO America, has shared his insights on the upcoming 2025 season, highlighting the series’ progress, innovation, and core values.
Enhancing Fan and Partner Experiences
When asked how SRO America has worked to elevate the experience for both fans and partners, Gill emphasized the importance of accessibility and engagement.
“We’ve embraced a more immersive experience for our fans,” he shared. “This started with increased content and expanded trackside experiences, including open paddock access and grid walks. We’ve also kept our races free to watch on platforms like YouTube while embracing an expanded relationship with MAVtv, which will broadcast our races live this upcoming year.”
For partners, the series has introduced targeted initiatives, such as the GT Business Forum held at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. “These events were thoughtfully curated and very well received,” Gill added, underscoring SRO America’s commitment to fostering strong B2B and B2C relationships within the industry.
Momentum Heading Into 2025
SRO America’s growth trajectory continues as teams and drivers embrace the direction of the series. According to Gill, the format and structure of the competitions have been met with a great deal of enthusiasm.
“Our GT classes have shown year-over-year growth, and the Toyota GR Cup series is thriving,” he said. “This momentum affirms the excitement surrounding our approach heading into 2025.”
This year will also see the introduction of the McLaren Trophy championship, adding another single-make series into the mix for competitors to explore.
The Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is a core priority for SRO globally, and SRO America is no exception. The organization’s commitment to balancing sustainability with competitive racing remains evident, and this alignment ensures that SRO continues to lead the way in responsible motorsport innovation without compromising on-track excitement.
“We are continuously working to implement further carbon reductions and encourage sustainability within our entire motorsports network,” he detailed. “This includes supporting environmental projects, promoting the use of 100% biofuels in our racing series, and integrating sustainable practices at all levels. SRO America is dedicated to leading by example.”
Aligning with SRO’s Global Vision
As a key part of a global organization, SRO America operates in tandem with the overarching strategy of the SRO Motorsports Group. Gill elaborated on how the American branch aligns with this vision while embracing its unique identity.
“Each operating unit of the SRO Motorsports Group integrates the leadership and direction of the organization as the leader in GT racing,” he explained. “In turn, here in North America, we tailor that global vision to the unique opportunities and heritage that we have here in our region.”
A Message to the Community
As the 2025 season approaches, Gill shared a heartfelt message for drivers, teams, and fans who form the backbone of SRO America.
“To our drivers, thank you for being part of the best single-class sports car racing on the planet. To our teams, we appreciate all you do to execute to perfection.”
He continued, “To our fans, we have often used the quote spoken about the World Challenge series many years ago, ‘This is how racing should be.’ That still rings true. Come out and enjoy sports car racing at one of our eight weekends or tune in online on YouTube or live on MAVtv. Thank you for contributing to our massive increase in attendance at our key events, as well as driving our viewership and engagement levels to new records.”
