Shoulder Injury Sidelines Dinan from Upcoming SRO America Races

SONOMA, Cali. – Following an on track incident earlier this month at the SRO’s GT4 America event at VIRginia International Raceway, Flying Lizard Motorsports driver Michael Dinan will have to withdraw from the next two events, missing a total of eight races between the Sprint and SprintX double headers of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Sonoma Raceway.

The 20 year old suffered shoulder fracture, and while Dinan will not have to undergo surgery, he will be unable to race for eight weeks while his shoulder heals.

“Michael’s health and recovery is our top priority,” said Flying Lizard Program Manager Darren Law. “It’s certainly a disappointment to no longer be attending next week’s races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, but we’re hoping to be able to run with other customers at our home event of Sonoma Raceway.”

Operating out of Sonoma Raceway, Flying Lizard Motorsports offers customer testing and racing programs throughout the year, often adding additional race entries at California-based events.

While Dinan recuperates, the team will prepare the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport for its next race event at Portland International Raceway, Jul 12-14. The team’s return to Portland International Raceway will be the combination of the GT4 Sprint and SprintX series, providing fans with the opportunity to support the team for four races over the course of the weekend.
