  • Toyota Fastest in Am Class
  • Practice 2 Results

The Pirelli GT4 America field wrapped up its Friday morning running at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with Practice 2. The session saw constant changes atop the leaderboard and competitive pace across all three classes, but it was ultimately the No. 77 VPX Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Alex Ellis and Danny Dyszelski that set the standard, topping the overall and Silver class charts. ACI Motorsports had a highly competitive showing in Pro-Am, and RAFA Racing Team were the frontrunners in the Am category.

Silver Class

Early in the session, Gresham Wagner jumped to the top of the timesheets with a strong lap in the No. 68 RAFA Racing Team Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2, setting the early benchmark before the order began to shift. As the track continued to evolve, the VPX Motorsport duo of Ellis and Dyszelski rose to the occasion, clocking a 1:30.199 lap time that stood as the best in class and overall by the time the 45-minute session came to a close.

Behind them, Jonathan Neudorf led the Aston Martin contingent in the No. 3 JMF Motorsports Vantage AMR GT4 EVO, securing third in class, while teammates Mike David Ortmann and Braydon Arthur placed the No. 4 JMF Motorsports entry fourth in class, giving Aston Martin a strong double showing inside the top five.

Pro-Am Class

In Pro-Am, veteran Jan Heylan showcased his experience with a stellar performance in the No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, which he is sharing this weekend with Curt Swearingin. Heylan’s lap placed him fastest in class and near the top of the combined order, continuing the team’s pursuit of the Pro-Am championship title, as they sit within reach behind the No. 94 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 of Sam Craven and Josh Green, who recorded the sixth-fastest time in class.

The sister No. 9 ACI Motorsports Porsche, driven by Loek Hartog and Dan Sibille, went second quickest in class and third overall midway through the session, while Michael Cooper and Tony Gaples put in a solid showing for Blackdog Racing, placing third in class and fourth overall in their No. 33 McLaren Artura GT4.

Am Class

In Am, RAFA Racing Team continued its strong form as Kenny Schmeid and Anthony Geraci went quickest in the No. 72 Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2, finishing 16th overall and first in class. Paul Sparta and Darius Trinka followed close behind in the No. 98 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4, while the No. 188 Fast Track Racing BMW of Judson Holt and Denny Stripling completed the top three.

BimmerWorld’s Charlie Postins and James Clay, leaders in the Am championship standings, finished fourth in class aboard the No. 36 BMW M4 GT4, keeping the title battle tight with the RAFA Racing duo heading into the weekend’s races.
