NOLASPORT Leads GT4 America Competitors in First Practice Session At Sonoma

SONOMA, CA All Pirelli GT4 America competitors hit the track on Friday morning at Sonoma Raceway, a 2.38 mile natural terrain road course, to kickoff the official practice sessions of the weekend.  Jason Hart topped the charts in his #47 NOLASPORT Porsche.

The 45-minute combined Sprint and SprintX session was held under sunny, 59 degrees Fahrenheit conditions.  The Pirelli GT4 America Sprint series features a single-driver, 50-minute double header weekend, while SprintX showcases a pair of two-driver, 60-minute races with pit stops.

Jason Hart, SprintX Pro-Am championship leader, and his #47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR would top the charts with a 1:47.322 lap time.  After leading most of the session, GT4 America Sprint championship leader Spencer Pumpelly would end up in the second position with a 1:47.430 fastest lap, a mere .108 seconds behind.

Sean Quinlan, in the #19 Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 (SprintX Pro-Am), would run a 1:47.794 fastest lap to end up third.  Driver of the #72 Robinson Racing Chevrolet Camaro GT4 Shane Lewis (Sprint Pro) would finish fourth with a 1:47.809.  Three-time World Challenge Champion Michael Cooper (Sprint Pro) would take his #10 Black Dog Speed Shop McLaren 570S GT4 to fifth with a 1:47.833 lap time.

The top 8 posted times fell within one second with six different brands - Porsche, BMW, Chevrolet, McLaren, Audi, and Ford -  represented within that top 8.

The session would end early due to a red flag with 10 minutes remaining.

The second and final GT4 America practice session will take place later today at 2:35pm local time.
