Wilson Posts Quickest GT4 America SprintX Practice 2 Time at Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – SprintX Am competitor Kris Wilson posted the fastest overall GT4 America SprintX/SprintX West time in Saturday afternoon’s second practice session at Portland International Raceway, part of the 59th Annual Rose Cup Races presented by Fastlife.TV.

Early in the 45-minute session, Pro/Am driver Gregory Liefooghe in the #19 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 topped the charts with a 1:18.225. Fellow Pro/Am competitor Jason Hart in the NOLASPORT #47 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR slotted into second on the charts with a 1:18.423. Robby Foley, driving the #21 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR posted a 1:18.445 to slot into the top three overall in SprintX Pro/Am.

In the Pro/Am West category, Harry Gottsacker, in the #28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 posted a 1:18.659 over fellow class competitor Kenny Murillo in the #34 Murillo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 (1:18.836), and ST Racing’s Jason Wolfe in the #38 BMW M4 GT4 Wolfe (1:18.867).

At the halfway point of the session, Liefooghe had improved his time to a 1:18.035. But with under 10 minutes remaining, Murillo went to top with a 1:17.969, who then was eclipsed by Wilson who posted a 1:17.893.

At the checkered, Wilson, who will share driving duties over the weekend with John Allen, posted an even quicker time of 1:17.744 to top the overall charts and first in the Am category. Murillo’s time held for second overall and first in the West Pro/Am division (Murillo will share duties with Christian Szymczak), while Liefooghe (partnering with Sean Quinlan) was third overall (1:18.035) and tops in the Pro/Am category. Hart (sharing duties with Matt Travis) slotted into fourth on the grid and second in the Pro/Am category (1:18.273), while Foley’s time placed him fifth on the charts and third in the Pro/Am category (Foley will share driving duties with Michael Dinan).

Frank Gannett (pairing with Drew Staveley) in the #24 Ian Lacy Racing Ford Mustang GT4 had the 11th fastest time (1:18.890), good for the top spot in the West Am division.

GT4 America SprintX and SprintX West teams next take to the track for qualifying on Saturday at 9:35 am PDT, with the first SprintX race set for a green flag start later that day at 2:15 pm PDT.
