Sweep, Sweep: Park Place Motorsports Cleans up at The Glen

DALLAS – Park Place Motorsports made a strong impression in its return to SRO Pirelli GT4 America race action at Watkins Glen International taking home two podium finishes and two wins in the #7 and #77 VOLT Lighting Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR.

In the No. 7 Volt Lighting Cayman driver and sponsor Alan Brynjolfsson reminded his fellow competitors that his racecraft is not be overlooked. Brynjolfsson took home third in the Sprint Am Class in both Race One and Race Two. After qualifying seventh in the Am Class, 14th overall Brynjolfsson was awarded Hard Charger and Best Start in Race One. Race Two Brynjolfsson made another impressive charge for his third-place finish having ended the competition sixth overall.

In SprintX East competition Brynjolfsson continued to showcase his vast understanding of the complicated 11 turn, 3.4-mile New York road course. In Race One he and co-driver Trent Hindman a clean Porsche Cayman in position to fight. Hindman took the No. 77 VOLT Lighting Porsche straight to the front for the win in the Pro-Am Class.

Race Two in SprintX East took a more dramatic turn, giving the same outcome. Hindman started fourth overall and jumped to third in Turn One on lap one. He never relinquished spot and turned over the Porsche to Brynjolfsson who entered the race in second overall, first in the SprintX East Pro-Am Class. Nearly as soon as he took to the track a yellow was issued for significant debris on the track after two cars collided causing damage to the safety barrier. The yellow would remain for the entirety of the race. Hindman and Brynjolfsson would take home double wins in the SprintX East series.

Next, on the SRO Pirelli GT4 America calendar for Park Place Motorsports is another track it previously visited this year, Road America. The penultimate round takes place Sept. 20-22 and features the Sprint, SprintX and SprintX East series on the 13 turn, 4-mile course. All four races will be live-streamed on http://gt4-america.com.
