Shane Lewis takes Pirelli GT4 America Sprint Race 1 Pole at Road America

Shane Lewis in the #72 Robinson Racing Camaro GT4 kept his strong Road America weekend going by taking the Pirelli GT4 America Sprint pro pole by throwing down a best time of 2:17.412, two-tenths of a second ahead of his competitors. “It is truly an honor to put this car on pole for these guys, who always give me the best car. To be on the pole for this event is very special, we’re very happy. I want to thank Robinson Racing for all the opportunities they have given me over the years,” said Lewis.

Pro championship leader Ian James will start second in his #50 Team Panoz Racing Avezzano GT4 after posting a best lap time of 2:17.615 with Michael Cooper in the #10 Blackdog Speed Shop McLaren 570S GT4 starting third after a fastest time of 2:18.008.

Spencer Pumpelly and the #66 TRG Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR will start from the fourth position with Andrew Davis and the #81 Kelly Moss Road & Race Audi R8 LMS fifth.

Alan Brynjolfsson in the #7 Park Place Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR would claim the Am-class pole after a fastest lap of 2:18.505, which was good enough for seventh overall.

Drew Staveley and the #12 Ian Lacy Racing Ford Mustang GT4 will start from the second position with a best lap of 2:18.575. Tony Gaples and the #11 Blackdog Speed Shop McLaren 570S GT4 will start third at the team’s home track after a 2:19.390 fastest lap. Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Jeff Courtney, the reigning GTSA champion, will start fourth in his #99 JCR Maserati Gran Turismo MC GT4 with Marko Radisic and the #22 Precision Driving Tech BMW M4 GT4 fifth.
