Wilson Takes Overall GT4X Race 1 Pole, Cosmo Slots Mercedes-AMG into P1 Race 2

Kris Wilson put the #16 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 on the overall and SprintX Am pole for Saturday’s Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Race 1 with a best time of 2:18.407. “Our Auto Technic BMW was stellar today! We got the car working really well and we got the car down to the low ‘18s. It was a surprise to grab pole,” said Wilson.

Patrick Byrne would snag the SprintX East Pro-Am pole after laying down a 2:18.572 lap, which was good enough for second overall. Drew Staveley and the #24 Ian Lacy Racing Ford Mustang GT4 ran a 2:18.962 fastest lap and will start third overall.

Matthew Fassnacht and the #34 Murillo Racing Mercedes AMG GT4 will start on the SprintX East Am pole with a fastest lap of 2:19.437. The #34 will start fourth overall with the #47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman of Matt Travis, who sits second in the SprintX Pro-Am championship, taking the class pole, starting fifth overall after a 2:20.222 fastest lap.

David Donahue put the #36 Andretti Autosport McLaren 570S GT4 sixth overall, second in the SprintX Pro-Am class, with a 2:20.392 best lap. Alan Brynjofsson put the #77 Park Place Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR seventh overall, third in the SprintX East Pro-Am class, with Sean Quinlan and the #19 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 starting eighth overall, third in the SprintX Pro-Am category.

Preston Calvert and the #51 Team Panoz Racing Avezzano GT4 will start ninth, second in SprintX Am, with the #44 Kelly-Moss/Photon Motorsports Audi R8 LMS GT4 of Greg Palmer tenth overall, second in the SprintX East Am category.

Guy Cosmo flew to the overall and SprintX East Pro-Am pole in the #89 RENNtech Mercedes AMG GT4 with a fastest lap of 2:17.440, sixth tenths of a second clear of the rest of the field.

Christian Szymczak would claim the SprintX East Am class pole in the #34 Murillo Racing Mercedes AMG GT4 with a 2:18.042, which was good enough for second overall. Jason Hart would put the #47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR on the SprintX Pro-Am class pole, third overall.

Gregory Liefooghe will start fourth overall, second in the SprintX Pro-Am class, after a best lap time of 2:18.529 in the #19 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4.. Robby Foley will start the #21 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR fifth overall, third in the SprintX Pro-Am category.

Starting sixth overall, second in the SprintX East Pro-Am class, will be Karl Wittmer in the #24 Ian Lacy Racing Ford Mustang GT4 with Alec Udell in the #2 GMG Racing Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR starting seventh overall, fourth in the SprintX Pro-Am category. Starting eighth overall and third in the SprintX East Pro-Am category will be Stevan McAleer in the #29 Classic BMW M4 GT4. Matt Keegan and the #51 Team Panoz Racing Avezzano GT4 took the SprintX Am pole with a 2:19.100 fastest lap, the ninth quickest time of the session with Trent Hindman starting the #77 Park Place Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR tenth overall, fourth in the SprintX East Pro-Am class.
