Las Vegas, NV – After cinching the 2019 championship in SRO America’s TCR DSG Cup this past weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Bryan Putt announces plans to run under his own team for the 2020 season. The new team, BSPort Racing, will feature an Aston Martin GT4 driven by Bryan Putt and Kenton Koch in the SprintX Pro-Am category, sponsored by Aires and OcuTek. They’ve hired on Kenton’s wife, Dani Koch, to serve as the Team Manager, along with experienced team members who they believe will make the program a success.
“After our first year in SRO America, and winning the DSG Cup title, it’s a big leap to move into team ownership and SprintX in the Aston Martin GT4,” says Bryan Putt. “With the combination of myself and Kenton Koch as co-drivers, along with Kenton’s wife Dani helping on the Team Management side, and an experienced engineer and mechanics, we feel confident that it will be a great season. It will definitely be a learning year for the entire group, and we are very excited for the challenge.”
In his rookie season of professional racing, Bryan Putt has dominated the TCR DSG Cup class, claiming 7 wins and 13 podiums in 16 races, earning him the TCR DSG Cup Championship. He hopes to continue the momentum from the season win into next year as he steps up into GT4 and takes on the new challenge of team ownership.
“I’ve coached Bryan for the last 3 years and it’s been cool to see his progress. I’m excited to work with him as not only a coach next year, but as a co-driver, and think it’ll help take him to new levels in his driving. Bryan has expressed interest in running his own team since the first time I met him. We’ve been careful not to rush into it so we could be properly prepared and make sure it’s a positive experience. We’re excited to take that next step!” says Kenton Koch. “We see SRO GT4 America as a home for our team for the coming years and the support from Aston Martin and CSJ Motorsports is what we’re looking for in a new program. My wife, Dani, and I may be new to managing a team, but we are not new to the sport, or the people and processes within it. In that, we have many years of experience to lean on. That will be a key part in pushing this program to the level we want it to perform.”
The team is set to compete in the full 2020 season of SRO America’s SprintX.
