Fast Track Racing Adds to its SprintX East Pro-Am Title

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Oct. 20, 2019) – The Fast Track Racing drivers are used to standing on the victory podium (top-3) in the SRO Blancpain GT World Challenge road racing series this year with their BMW M4 GT4 sports cars and BMW M240iR sedans. They continued that trend Sunday night in Las Vegas at the SRO Blancpain GT Global Gala celebration.

In this weekend’s action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the season-ending Pirelli GT4 America and TC America doubleheader races, the Fast Track Racing operation accomplished its seasonal goal, on the championship podium.

In the GT4 SprintX Pro-Am divisions, the combination of Chris Ohmacht and Toby Grahovec knew what was needed to take the Top 3 in the point standings and stand on the Pirelli GT4 America stage at Sunday’s night SRO Global Gala celebration at the Bellagio Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.

Driving the No. 92 VETS Indexes/CLASSIC BMW BMW M4 GT4, Ohmacht and Grahovec had to develop a good handling race car with the LVMS 2.513-mile road circuit inside the 1.5-mile oval track. As a dirty racing surface greeted the SRO entrants on Thursday, it took several days for the grip level to adjust for the BMW machines.

Knowing they needed to finish both events to gain the valuable points in the SprintX Pro-Am championship, Ohmacht and Grahovec paced themselves in the tight quarters of the infield course and brought home and fifth and sixth at the checkered flags Saturday and Sunday in the two 60-minute, two-driver contests.

And the Fast Track Racing duo scored the points to step onto the Pro-Am podium Sunday evening in the series banquet.

“There was very little grip in the racing surface in the early part of the weekend and we had to making many adjustments with the BMWs this weekend,” said Grahovec, Fast Track Racing’s team manager. “The cars did improve as the grip level got better with the track. We are excited to finish in the Top 3 in the final GT4 SprintX Pro-Am standings as we only ran ten of the 16 series races. This is the second year in a row that Chris and I have made the Top 3 in points in the SprintX competition with third in Am last year and third in Pro-Am this year. It was good year for the Fast Track Racing team.”

“That’s a wrap on the SRO Pirelli GT4 America SprintX 2019 season with Toby,” says Ohmacht. “We had solid results this weekend in two intense races and secured third place in the national GT4 SprintX Pro-Am championship. I was also very happy to have my beautiful wife, Linda, here with me for the weekend and Global Gala tonight!”

Last year, Fast Track Racing captured the prestigious BMW Sports Trophy as the top worldwide customer team for BMW Motorsport. And earlier this year, the team of Justin Raphael and Stevan McAleer won the GT4 SprintX East Pro-Am series crown in the No. 29 Raphael & Associates/CLASSIC BMW BMS M4 GT4 sports car.
