Nolasport Set to Run Full-Season Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Campaign

New Orleans, LA. – Nolasport is set to open its first full-season Pirelli GT4 Americas SprintX competition when its Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsports take to the track in this weekend’s season opening event on March 1st – 3rd at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.

Team Principal Jon Scheurich shared his excitement, “To say I am happy to be moving into the GT4 America SprintX season with Nolasport, Matt Travis and Jason Hart in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport is an understatement. It has been great to race and win with them in 2017 and 2018 SprintX competition. The SprintX format checks a lot of boxes when you are considering where to race, I am pleased with what SRO has done with this championship making our commitment an easy choice.”

Coming off a successful 2018 in TC competition, Matt Travis shared his optimism for the GT4 America SprintX season, “In the prior generation Cayman GT4, with one-off SprintX race weekends in both 2017 and 2018, Jason and I had fantastic results. I’m thankful to race with Nolasport again, and grateful for Jason’s coaching over the last 5 years. I’m glad SRO decided to keep the national championship for GT4 America SprintX, that’s what we’re aiming for.”

Nolasport in-house pro and coach, Jason Hart is excited to be gearing up for a full GT4 America SprintX season surrounded by a team he considers family. “I couldn’t ask for anything more than to be teamed up with this great group I consider to be one big family. Matt only began racing a few years ago but his development has been impressive. SRO has put together a great program, 2 races per weekend and the intensity that the SprintX format creates is exactly where Matt and I want to be. I am truly blessed and thankful for this mega opportunity.”

In addition to the Hart/Travis pairing Nolasport will have the Vess Energy Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport entry at COTA with drivers Mike Vess and John Capestro-Dubets.

Mike Vess looks forward to working with Nolasport throughout 2019. “I have enjoyed Nolasport’s thorough, professional and measured approach on and off the track. I have a lot of trust in both of these groups. It was natural for me to be in the new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. Jason Hart is more of a friend than just my coach/co-driver. I appreciate his ability to translate what the car is doing to our engineer so I’m always provided a car that is fast, comfortable and confident. I need to thank my family for supporting me in this sport that I enjoy so much.”

John Capestro-Dubets pairs with Mike Vess at COTA for his first GT4 America SprintX start. “I’m excited that Mike and Jason made the call to give me this opportunity. I can’t wait to get back to COTA where Mike and I have had so much success in the past.” On the prospect of working with a new team, JCD was nothing but confident, “Speaking with Jason and seeing the team’s accomplishments of the past few years in SRO competition, I’m stoked to sit in a Nolasport prepared Porsche.”

Kyle Millikin of Porsche Motorsport has seen the team develop through the years. “It has been great to see Nolasport grow and accomplish so much since they started racing the first Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport in 2016. They began their program with an open book they still operate with today. You can see its effect. Jason Hart has been there from the start and the knowledge gained by having a pro in house racing, coaching and testing has transferred seamlessly to their drivers who are all known for running up front. The relationship between Nolasport and Porsche Motorsport is very healthy and we look forward to working and winning together as Nolasport takes on their first Pro Championship Campaign.”
