GT4 Sports Cars Burn Up the Track for Start of Final Thermal Invitational Practice Sessions

Thermal, Calif. - The latest and greatest GT4 sports cars hit the track at the Winter Invitational at The Thermal Club in Southern California. The final two rounds of the inaugural competition began with the first two practice sessions of the weekend.

Setting the pace for the remainder of the GT4 field, driver Naveen Rao took his No. 164 US RaceTronics  McLaren 570S GT4 through the turns to the tune of 2-minutes, 7.617-seconds, good enough to set the fast lap in the class for the day's sessions.

Just behind him, Alex Welch took his No. 14 GMG Audi R8 LMS GT4 to a fastest-lap of 2:09.315, good enough for the 2nd fastest position overall for the day.

Third-fastest laps belonged to Mark Crigler in the No. 140 GMG Audi R8 LMS GT4. His 2:09.578-second lap in third practice sealed his position among the top contenders for the qualifying and race rounds on Saturday.

Qualifying session begins at 12:30pm on Saturday with the Round 5 competition starting at 3:40pm.
