Welch Takes the Last GT4 Podium of Winter Invitational Series at The Thermal Club

Thermal, Calif. - The inaugural Winter Invitational series closed its season with Round 6 competition at The Thermal Club in Thermal, Calif., this weekend. GT4 competitors competed concurrently with GT3, GT3 Cup and the new GT2 classes in the first-time-in-America GT Sports Club series.

Alex Welch, piloting the #14 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4, took the green flag for the last GT4 competition of the series. Welch had repeat podium appearances throughout the series.

The #09 TruSpeed Racing BMW M4 GT4 made its appearance on the podium known with the driver Dominic Cicero able to maneuver his way to second place.

Closing out the bottom spot of the podium on the last event of the year was GT4 series regular Jason Bell. Driving the GMG Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS MR, Bell was able to secure to the third step on the podium for the final event of the series.

Mark Crigler won the lottery for the 2020 season single-event entry for the Pirelli GT4 America season.

Pirelli GT4 America 2020 season kicks off in conjunction with GT World Challenge America presented by AWS in Austin, Texas, at Circuit of the Americas on March 6-8, 2020.
