Compass Racing Return to Pirelli GT4 America with Geraci and Golinello

VISTA, CA — One of SRO’s winningest teams returns to the series for the 2020 season, with Compass Racing confirmed to field McLaren 570S GT4s in GT4 America. This year marks the squad's fourth season with manufacturer partner McLaren.

Anthony Geraci and Richard Golinello – both of whom are no stranger to the SRO paddock – have been signed to compete in the No. 77 McLaren Newport Beach / Richard Mille / AERO Paint / Race Day Foundation 570S GT4, starting with the season-opening rounds at Circuit of the Americas outside of Austin, Texas.

“We are delighted to welcome Anthony and Rich to our team this year,” remarked Team Owner Jill Beck. “We’ve competed against both of them in past seasons, and we know they’ll be a strong line-up that can win races."

Compass Racing hopes to build on its enviable record of success in SRO competition, which include multiple Team, Driver and Manufacturer championships, the most recent of which were in 2017, and date back to the squad’s World Challenge debut in 2011.

Team Principal Karl Thomson co-drove with Jarett Andretti last season, the duo taking two wins in the Am class. Geraci and Golinello will compete in the same class, reserved for bronze-rated drivers.

“We really enjoy the GT4 America SprintX format, with two drivers sharing the car for two one-hour races each weekend,” noted Thomson. “The races are exciting to compete in, are fun to watch, and highlight the value of teamwork. The GT4 cars, and especially the McLaren, are really great platforms for this kind of racing."

Circuit of the Americas kicks off an exciting eight-weekend series that also includes races at Long Beach, Lime Rock, Virginia International Raceway, Sonoma Raceway, Road America, Watkins Glen and Indianapolis.

Compass Racing is also proud to continue their relationship with The Race Day Foundation, who bring children and families dealing with life-changing illnesses to the race track for a day away from their regular routine. Many other SRO teams support the charity, which will have an expanded presence in sportscar paddocks this year.
