RecStuff Racing Set For Full Pirelli GT4 America Sprint Tour With Fred Roberts and Jeff Courtney Driving Starting At Cota

JACKSON, Wisconsin – RECSTUFF RACING announced today it will field a two-car effort in the 16-race 2020 SRO Pirelli GT4 America Sprint Series with drivers Fred Roberts and Jeff Courtney at the wheel of the team’s GT4 sports cars beginning this week in the tour's season-opening doubleheader races at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) March 6-8.

RECSTUFF RACING, formerly JCR Motorsports, is a veteran motorsports organization based near Milwaukee with decades of sports car competition including taking Courtney to the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge GT4 Sprint Am drivers’ points championship.

In addition to the COTA event this weekend, RECSTUFF RACING also will compete in Pirelli GT4 America Sprint doubleheader events scheduled for Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (March 13-15), Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (May 15-17), VIRginia International Raceway (June 6-7), Sonoma Raceway (Aug. 7-9), Road America (Aug. 28-30), Watkins Glen International (Sept. 18-20) and Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Oct. 1-3).

After a successful program with Maserati sports cars, RECSTUFF RACING will campaign new machinery in 2020 with Roberts in the No. 89 AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4 car and Courtney in the No. 99 KENDA/RecStuff.com Mercedes-AMG GT4 mount.

“Both Fred and I are very excited about driving the new equipment in 2020,” said Courtney, the veteran Milwaukee racer. “We have added some new team members for this season, and we are really looking forward to making that gel along with the learning process of these new cars. Recent testing was pretty good, although we were limited to one day due to weather conditions but I believe we were both able to get comfortable and identify most of the buttons on these new cars. LOL. COTA will be our first competition driving the new cars and we are anxious to hit the track.”

“After a season of testing several GT4 cars with other teams, Jeff and I are back racing together with our own team,” said Roberts, the Toronto resident. “It's a great feeling to be behind the wheel of current, relevant machinery. It's all new to us so we hope to get up to speed quickly with seat time, and a great crew working hard to help us be competitive right out of the box!"

Courtney’s most recent career highlight was his 2018 PWC Sprint Am series title after collecting numerous wins and podium finishes in the GTS and GT4 action in the past decade. Roberts, a veteran Viper driver before driving a Maserati in 2018, also has scored podium finishes in the GTS and GT4 throughout his career.

Partners with RECSTUFF RACING in 2020 will be KENDA Tires and RecStuff.com on Courtney’s car, while RPM Canada will be featured on Roberts’ machine.

The GT4 Sprint 50-minute races are scheduled for Saturday (March 7) at 4:20 p.m. CST with Sunday’s (March 8) GT4 Sprint feature taking place at 9:55 a.m. CDT.

All Sprint races will be streamed live on www.gt4-america.com and via audio simulcast on SiriusXM satellite radio Ch. 385 (980 on the web stream). GT4 Sprint race highlights from COTA will be televised on CBS Sports Network on Tuesday, March 17, at 8 p.m. EDT.
