Park Place Motorsports Enters SRO Action

DALLAS – Park Place Motorsports will enter its first season of the Blancpain GT4 America series competing in the Blancpain GT4 America EAST and select Sprint races with the VOLT Lighting Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR driven by Alan Brynjolfsson and Trent Hindman.

Park Place Motorsports will run the No. 77 VOLT Lighting Porsche Cayman in the GT4 America EAST series with both Brynjolfsson and Hindman behind the wheel. The No. 7 VOLT Lighting Porsche Cayman will run in the Sprint series and be driven by Brynjolfsson alone. The No. 77 Porsche Cayman kicks off competition in early March at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) as part of the Sprint X and GT4 EAST schedule.

Running under the SRO Motorsports America or WC Vision banner is a first for Park Place Motorsports. However, Brynjolfsson and Hindman made their debut in GT4 competition in the GTS Sprint X class in 2018. The duo competed at VIRginia International Raceway in the Grand Prix of Virginia for rounds three and four of competition. Hindman and Brynjolfsson took home the win in Race One and walked away with a second-place finish in Race Two of the weekend.

In addition to the team’s breakout success Brynjolfsson went on to finish third in the GTSA Sprint Race One at Road America. At the end of the 2018 season he also was honored as the GTS Rookie of the Year.

WC Vision starts its 30th anniversary with new series distinction after the introduction of SRO Motorsports America. The series governing body oversees the Blancpain GT World Challenge America, GT4 America powered by Pirelli and TC America. The new era of GT and Touring Car racing offers a wider-range of customer racing at some of Americas most exciting tracks.

Team Principal Patrick Lindsey is excited to expand Park Place Motorsports into a new series and to be back in Park Place Porsche’s backyard in Austin, Texas for the season opener.

“Trent and Alan did a great job last year, so I’m hoping they kick this season off with a win,” Lindsey said. “We’re excited to have them represent the team in the Blancpain GT4 America series. They will help spread the message that Park Place Motorsports is open to clients. They’re a talented lineup that will make us look good for sure. I had some decent finishes at COTA, but we never won, so maybe they can give Park Place their first win at home.”

The weekend at COTA begins Thursday, Feb. 28 with a full day of testing for Sprint X and GT4 America EAST. Friday, March 1 hosts a day of practice and Saturday, March 2 kicks off with qualifying. A 60-minute Race 1 completes Saturday, and a 60-minute Race Two ends the opening weekend on Sunday, March 3. For a detailed schedule visit http://world-challenge.com
