St. Pete Street Event Canceled Due to COVID-19 Virus; Racing Not a Current Priority

With the current national emergency of the COVID-19 virus, the RECSTUFF RACING driving duo of Jeff Courtney and Fred Roberts are putting their racing operation on the back burner now as the Pirelli GT4 America Sprint road races last week in the street of St. Petersburg, Fla., were canceled.

The promoters of the event, Green Savoree Promotions, along with officials City of St. Petersburg, SRO America and NTT IndyCar Series, decided to cancel the 2020 event after the national emergency was called.

"Fred and my concerns are the same as all worldwide citizens with the current Coronavirus pandemic," said Courtney. "This emergency situation is much bigger than any race to be run. We are hopeful that this pandemic can become under control in the near future. We want everyone to be pro-active with this situation and follow the directions of the medical officials. We hope to begin racing again when it is appropriate."

RECSTUFF RACING competed on two GT4 Sprint Am events earlier this month at Circuit of the America (COTA) with Courtney scoring two seventh place finishes and Roberts taking eighth and ninth places.
