The 2020 Pirelli GT4 America SprintX season reignites at VIRginia International Raceway, in Alton, Virginia. 20 cars will line up in the two-driver, 60-minute sprint races around the 3.27 mile, 17-turn natural terrain circuit for rounds 3, 4, and 5 of the championship.
The opening rounds at Circuit of the Americas were all about NOLASPORT and the #47 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 of Matt Travis and Jason Hart as the duo swept the weekend jumping out to a commanding lead in the Pro-Am standings with the maximum of 50 points. Hart and Travis look to carry that momentum into VIR.
Sitting second in the championship, 17 points behind the leaders, is the pairing of Charlie Belluardo and Jan Heylen in the #37 RS1 Porsche Cayman CS MR after finishing second and third in the opening rounds in early March. The team will also field the #33 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for Patrick Gallagher and Joe Dalton.
Flying Lizard Motorsports brings two cars with Michael Dinan and Robby Foley, who sit third in the standings, in the #21 Aston Martin Vantage GT4, and Michael Cooper and Erin Vogel in the #30 McLaren 570S GT4.
GMG Racing will field the #2 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 for Jason Bell and Andrew Davis, who sit fourth in the title fight.
Bsport Racing brings the #15 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for Bryan Putt and Kenton Koch.
Stephen Cameron Racing enters the #19 BMW M4 GT4 for 2019 class champions Gregory Liefooghe and Sean Quinlin.
BimmerWorld brings the mighty duo of Bill Auberlen and James Walker Jr to the grid with the #82 BMW M4 GT4.
Rearden Racing enters the #91 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for Vesko Kozarov and Jeff Burton. The team will also field an Am-division entry for John Allen and Kris Wilson in the #16 Mercedes AMG GT4.
The Silver Cup class, made entirely of Silver-rated drivers, sees Colin Mullan and Jarrett Andretti piloting the #36 Andretti Autosport McLaren 570S GT4. The Andretti Autosport duo lead the class championship standings after finishing first and second at Circuit of the Americas.
ST Racing will field two BMW M4 GT4s with Nick Wittmer and Harry Gottsacker, who sit second in the class championship, driving the #28, and Samantha Tan and Jon Miller sharing the #38 entry.
Marco Polo Motorsports returns with their KTM Xbow GT4 with Nicolai Elghanayan and Mads Soljehaug, the 2019 ADAC GT4 Germany champion, driving the #71 entry. Elghanayan and Soljehaug finished second and third to open the season at COTA.
Cole Ciraulo and Tim Barber, who are currently 5th in the championship, will drive the #25 CCR Team TFB BMW M4 GT4.
Classic BMW will field the #26 BMW M4 GT4 for Toby Grahovec and Chandler Hull.
TRG brings an Am-entry for James Rappaport and Derek Deboer, who finished third in Round 1 to kick-off the season, in the #17 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4.
BGB Motorsports will enter the #69 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 for Tom Collingwood and John Tecce.
Ian Lacy Racing will field the #24 Ford Mustang GT4 for Drew Staveley and Frank Gannett in the Pro-Am class for the rescheduled Long Beach round.
Also entered for the Long Beach makeup event is the #3 Motorsport USA McLaren 570S of Michael McAleen and Dan Rogers in Am.
Racing action starts on Friday, July 10th at 4:10pm ET for Race 1 with Race 2 going green on Saturday, July 11th at 3:35pm ET. Race 3 will take place on Sunday, July 12th at 10:00am ET with all races streaming live at https://www.gt4-america.com/live.
