Pumpelly Grabs Pirelli GT4 America Sprint Pole at VIR

ALTON, Virginia – Spencer Pumpelly grabbed the overall and Pro Division Pirelli GT4 America Sprint pole for this afternoon's race. Flying Lizard Motorsports' Michael Dinan in the #210 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 secured the AM Division pole. The 15-minute qualifying session was held under sunny 76-degree Fahrenheit conditions.

In the Sprint Pro Division, Pumpelly, in the #66 TRG Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, set the early pace with a 1:53.803, followed by Drew Staveley in the #12 Ian Lacy Racing Ford Mustang GT4 with a time of 1:54.099. Three-time SRO Motorsports America Driver's Champion Michael Cooper in the #10 Blackdog Speed Shop McLaren 570S GT4 slotted into third on the charts with an early time of 1:54.905.

Jason Bell in the #2 GMG Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 posted an early lap time of 1:57.558 to head the AM Division.

Pumpelly then improved his time to a 1:53.164, followed by Cooper at 1:54.554. Bell then improved his time to a 1:56.274. Rearden Racing's Jeff Burton in his #191 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 then moved atop the AM division with a 1:55.718.

Drew Staveley in the #12 Ian Lacy Racing G3 Racing Ford Mustang GT4 then slotted into second in the Pro Division with a 1:54.099.

Dinan in #210 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 secured the AM Division pole with a late session flying lap of 1:55.596. 

At the checkered, Pumpelly's time held and he will start ahead of Staveley, Cooper, and Andretti. Dinan will lead the Am division to the line, fifth overall on the grid. Results are provisional until posted final.
