Wittmer and Auberlen Score Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Poles at VIR

ALTON, Virginia – Nick Wittmer and Bill Auberlen scored the overall poles for Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Rounds 3 and 4 at VIRginia International Raceway on Friday morning. 

The 30 minute session was split into two 15 minute segments to set the poles for both rounds at VIR.

In the first segment, Silver Divison competitor Wittmer, in the #28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 posted an early fast time of 1:54.156. A lap later Am Division competitor Rearden Racing's John Allen in the #16 Mercedes AMG GT4 went to the top of the charts with a 1:54.045. Wittmer then went back to top with a 1:53.866 and would land on pole for Race 1.  Allen and the #16 will start second overall, first in the Am division.

Tim Barber in the #25 CCR Team TFB BMW M4 GT4  1:55.068  will start third overall on the grid, second in Silver.

James Walker Jr and the #82 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 were the fastest of the Pro-Am competitors with a time of 1:55.402 and will start fifth overall.
 
In the second segment, Pro/Am Division competitor Bill Auberlen in the #82 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 went to the top with a 1:53.724, followed by GMG Racing's Andrew Davis in the #2 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 with a 1:54.340. Colin Mullan and the #18 Andretti Autosport McLaren 570S GT4 will start third overall, first in the Silver division, after running a fastest time of 1:54.346.

Zac Anderson and the #7 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 would grab the pole in the Am division with a best time of 1:56.027.  The #7 will start 16th overall.  

Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Race 1 will go green at 4:30pm ET today with Race 2 taking place on Saturday, July 11th at 3:45pm ET.
