After Five Podiums in Virginia, Jason Bell Heads West to Sonoma Raceway

Claiming five podiums across three different classes of competition and eight races a few short weeks ago at the Virginia International Raceway (VIR), GMG Racing driver Jason Bell is off to California as he looks to add to his trophy case. Competing at the Sonoma Raceway in Napa Valley, California, Bell will compete in Sprint, SprintX and GT Sports Club (GTSC) at one of his favorite tracks on the calendar.

"It is another busy weekend, but I really commend what the SRO Motorsports Group is doing to allow us to race all of our events in a safe environment," explained Bell. "Looking forward to getting down to business this weekend and will be aiming for more podiums and race wins out West."

Making up races and cancelled events due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Bell will race three times each in Sprint and SprintX and a pair of races in GTSC. Co-piloting in the SprintX class with Andrew Davis, the duo claimed a pair of third place podium results at VIR and will be aiming to improve on this weekend.

Bell added, "We have been pretty consistent in all the events this year, but this weekend we will be shooting for that breakout win. Our team, GMG Racing, has loads of experience at the Sonoma Raceway, and I think their local track knowledge will assist us in our chances of claiming the checkered flag."

With three podiums in the GTSC category, Bell is in the hunt to take over the championship points lead following the conclusion of the California event. Focused on consistent finishes all while maintaining his front of the field presence, the Floridian has two opportunities to stand atop the podium.

On track August 6-9, Jason Bell will hit the track on Thursday for an unofficial Promoters Test Day as he looks to get his Porsche machines up to speed. Friday will be the home of qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel action while race two and three of the Sprint and SprintX programs will take place on Saturday and Sunday along with the two wheel-to-wheel GTSC events.

Jason Bell would like to thank all of his partners for their continued support. A huge thanks to GMG Racing, Kavana Rum, Ceramic Pro, Highway Systems Incorporated, Osteria Tampa, and Frost NYC.
