Qualifying 1
With windshield wipers flying Mads Siljehaug and the #71 Marco Polo Motorsports KTM X-Bow GT4 claimed the overall and Silver-class pole position for Friday’s Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Race 1 with a fastest time of 2:34.044 around the 4.048 mile Road America circuit. Just .226 seconds behind the pole sitter was Michael Dinan’s #21 Flying Lizard Vantage, who will start second overall, first in the Pro-Am category.
Matt Travis and the championship-leading #47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 will start third overall, second in the Pro-Am category after a best lap of 2:35.697.
Jon Miller piloted the #38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 to fourth overall, second in the Silver class with a quickest lap of 2:36.023, just ahead of the #36 Andretti Autosport Window World of MI McLaren 570S GT4 in fifth, third in the Silver class.
Tim Barber put the #25 CCR Team TFB BMW M4 GT4 sixth overall, fourth in the silver class with the returning #50 Panoz Avezzano of Matt Keegan seventh overall, third in the Pro-Am class.
Harry Gottsacker, Silver class championship leader, will start the #28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 eighth overall, fifth in class with Charlie Belluardo’s #37 RS2 Porsche Cayman CS MR ninth overall, fourth in Pro-Am.
Bryan Putt and the #15 BSport Aston Martin Vantage GT4 will start tenth overall, fifth in Pro-Am.
The Am-class pole was claimed by Sean Gibbons in the #7 NOLASPORTS Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, who will start thirteenth overall.
Qualifying 2
The rain increased during Qualifying Session 2 with lightning beginning to flash, bringing the session to a halt under red flag conditions. The session would ultimately be shown the checkered flag with more details to come on the Race 2 starting grid and order.
