CJ Wilson & Porsche Fresno partners with OGH Motorsports for GT4 America title push

Dallas, Texas - Today, Dallas-based OGH Motorsports announced a new partnership with Porsche Fresno, the flagship dealership of the CJ Wilson Automotive Group. The two-time MLB All-Star pitcher’s dealership will become a primary partner of the GT4 America SprintX Am leading Nolasport-run #7 Cayman GT4 Clubsport of Sean Gibbons and Zac Andersdon.

The two drivers have dominated the category all season with seven wins from eleven starts. They left the Road America event with a commanding 91 point lead and a significant  points haul in the global Porsche Cup standings. The Porsche Cup honors the most outstanding private Porsche drivers, competing throughout the World, each season. It is the brainchild of Ferry Porsche himself and has been awarded every year since 1970.

For Gibbons, the tie-up with CJ Wilson and Porsche Fresno is a vital part of his push to win both Championships. “Nolasport have done an unbelievable job for OGH Motorsports this year particularly as we have been running to a very tight budget. It is incredible to have Porsche Fresno join us as a sponsor for the rest of the season. I am looking forward to working with CJ on our program and hopefully delivering him a GT4 America Sprint X Championship and the Porsche Cup to go along with his two American League Championships.” While the Sprint X Am Championship is Gibbons’ primary goal, he is very conscious of the prestige and acclaim that the Porsche Cup offers. “Zac [Anderson] and I  are so fortunate to even be mentioned in the same breath as some of the names that have won the Porsche Cup through the last half century. There are so many people on that list that I look at as heroes!"

“Racing has always been a huge motivation for my entry into the automotive sphere and we're rooting for Sean, OGH and Nolasport to bring home the title for Porsche this year,” Wilson explained. The 39 year old left-hander still has plans to get back behind the wheel himself and sees the partnership as a way to stay engaged with his first love, sportscar racing. “If I cannot be in the car, the next best thing is to support a great team effort.”

The Nolasport-run duo return to Circuit of the Americas later this month, for a double-header weekend, needing only a fifth place finish to clinch the SprintX Am Championship.  Action from Circuit of the Americas gets underway on Friday, September 18th with the first of two hour-long races.
