Heylen Paces Second Pirelli GT4 America Practice at the Brickyard

Indianapolis, IN - Jan Heylen paced the second combined Pirelli GT4 America Sprint and SprintX series practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, late Wednesday afternoon. The series is running on the 2.439 mile, 14-turn road course circuit at the world-renowned facility. 

The 60-minute session was held in overcast, 70-degree Fahrenheit weather conditions. Eight minutes into the session, Pro/Am SprintX driver Heylen, driving the #37 RS1 Porsche Cayman CS MR, went to the top with a 1:31.260, followed by Silver division SprintX driver Andretti Autosport's Colin Mullan in the #36 Window World of Michigan McLaren 570S GT4 (1:31.311). Michael Cooper in the #10 Blackdog Speed Shop McLaren 570s GT4 had the early Sprint Pro division fast time with a 1:32.008, good for, at the time, sixth overall on the charts. TRG's James Rappaport in the #17 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 had the early fast SprintX Am time of 1:32.832, good for at the time 13th fastest overall, while NOLASPORT's Matt Travis, running both Sprint and SprintX this weekend, had the early fast Sprint Am time in the #48 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 with a 1:32.889.

Then 20 minutes in, Drew Staveley in his #12 Ian Lacy Racing Ford Mustang GT4 moved into 7th overall at the time and tops in Sprint Pro with a 1:31.948. Travis improved to a 1:32.553 to further solidify his top Sprint Am time.

With under 20 minutes to go in the session, Flying Lizard's Michael Dinan, in the #210 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 eclipsed Travis' time with a 1:32.229, good for 14th overall on the charts at the time. 

With under five minutes remaining in the session, Heylen improved his time to a 1:31.109, while Sean Quinlan, in the #119 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 went to the top of Sprint Am with a 1:31.648, good for 7th fastest overall. Russell Walker in the #46 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4s went to the top in SprintX Am with a 1:32.752.
