NOLASPORT and NOTLAD Racing by RS1 Take SprintX Poles at IMS

Indianapolis, Ind. - After claiming the overall pole for Pirelli GT4 America Sprint Race 1 this morning, Matt Travis followed up his impressive performance by taking the SprintX Race 1 pole in the #47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. Travis’ fastest lap of 1:31.069 was .149 seconds ahead of Nick Wittmer’s #28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4, who will start second overall, first in the Silver division.

Jon Miller, driving the #38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 will start third overall, second in the Silver category, with Silver class Championship leader Jarrett Andretti and the #36 Andretti Autosport Window World of Michigan McLaren 570S GT4 fourth overall, third in class.  Michael Dinan and the #21 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4, who trails the pole-sitting #47 by 3 points in the championship standings, round out the top five, second in the Pro-Am class.

Michael McAleenan and the #3 Motorsports USA McLaren 570S GT4 claimed the Am-class pole with a fastest lap of 1:32.885, good enough for sixteenth overall.

The second qualifying session, which sets the grid for Friday’s Race 2, saw Patrick Gallagher and the #33 NOTLAD Racing by RS1 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 on top after a flying lap of 1:30.084. Robby Foley and the championship-contending #21 Flying Lizard Aston Martin Vantage GT4 will start second after posting a time just .093 seconds behind Gallagher. Both cars are racing for Pro-Am honors.

Roman De Angelis put the #51 Panoz Racing Avezzano GT4 on the Silver class pole, third overall, with Andrew Davis and the #2 GMG Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 starting fourth overall, third in Pro-Am. Jan Heylen, who paced Practice Session 2 on Wednesday afternoon, starts the #37 RS1 Porsche Cayman CS MR fifth overall, fourth in Pro-Am.

Russell Walker and the #46 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 took the Am-class pole, starting an impressive ninth overall.

Pirelli GT4 SprintX Race 1 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway will go green this evening at 5:05pm ET, with Race 2 set for Friday morning, bright and early at 8:00am ET.  Both races will stream live at https://www.gt4-america.com/live.
