NOLASPORT, Sean Gibbons and Zac Anderson were a match made in Heaven in 2020. Winning 8 times, the impressive team wrapped up the championship at Circuit of the Americas, missed the final two races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and still won the title by a whopping 88 points. As if winning 8 times in 13 races wasn’t impressive enough, the team never once finished off the podium.

The season was not easy or smooth by any means, however. The team took a race-by-race, grassroots, get-your-hands dirty approach to the season to scrape together their championship-winning effort by finding great partners like Porsche Fresno, Trattore Wines, and Stewart Title to get done what needed to get done. After all of the hard work and extra elbow grease needed, the #7 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 was crowned the 2020 SprintX Am Champion. “It’s so amazing, I can’t believe how this season has gone. All of the support we’ve gotten today and to claim the championship at COTA, at home, is special,” said Gibbons after securing the title at the penultimate venue.

“I have so much confidence in Porsche and NOLASPORT, and everyone involved here is fantastic. It’s so cool to be here and to win the title,” Anderson said. “A huge thanks to Jason Hart, my mentor and coach. We’re champions!”

Gibbons adds, “This was such an amazing and challenging year. We started the season with two wins at COTA and then the pandemic hit. At that point I wasn’t sure there would be a championship to go after.” Gibbons continues, “We get back to racing and Zac and I continue to have incredible results on track but the pandemic’s impact on the business side of our program was so bad I didn’t know if we would be able to continue. Thankfully we were able to find a way to keep it going and we ended up winning the championship!”

Gibbons closes with credits for the team’s winning season. “We could not have won without; Jon and the whole team at NOLSAPORT, the car was always great; Sam & Lisa Owen; our teammates Jason Hart and Matt Travis who set the bar for us; our sponsors Trattorie Farms, Porsche Fresno and Stewart Title; and for me, my family  who puts up with me being away from home to chase this crazy dream.”
