Jason Bell Makes the Switch to Aston Martin for 2021
December 14, 2020 – With a successful 2020 race season now behind him, GMG Racing driver Jason Bell is already making gains for 2021. Confirming a switch to Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for next season, Bell will continue his development with the potent GMG Racing program while piloting his familiar #2 on a new marque next season. Also confirming his participation in the SRO Motorsports Group Winter Series, Bell will be behind the wheel of an Aston Martin in the very near future.

“A new year means new things but a big thank you to Porsche Racing for all of their help and support over the past few seasons. Without their expertise and knowledge, we would have never been able to have the success that we had,” explained Bell. “The Aston Martin Vantage is a car that we have had our eyes on for quite some time. The customer service side of their program is second to none and will give us an even better chance to win in 2021. We have received the first car this week and have penciled in some test days to ensure that we are 100% ready.”

Utilizing a four liter, V8 Twin Turbo that pushes outs 460 horsepower, the Aston Martin Vantage utilizes an optimized ZF six-speed transmission. With a lightweight aluminum chassis based on the latest Vantage production car, an FIA steel roll cage has been installed making it legal for on track competition.

“I am beyond excited to be returning to Pirelli GT4 America competition with Jason Bell for 2021,” added Andrew Davis. “Adding to the enthusiasm is the fact that we will be switching to the Aston Martin marque. We battled hard all year long with the Aston Martins during the 2020 season, so I’m very familiar with the capabilities of the car. We had a very successful season with GMG Racing, and it’s a huge benefit anytime you can return with the same core group for consecutive years. I’m confident that we will be in prime spot as championship contenders in 2021. I’d like to thank Jason Bell, GMG Racing, and Aston Martin for this awesome opportunity!”

“There are so many cool things about this car, and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel,” continued Bell. “With the Pirelli GT4 America and GT America podium and championship as the main target in 2021, the Aston Martin provides our program with the best opportunity to win.”

With GMG Racing and Jason Bell confirming their participation in the SRO Motorsports Group California Winter Invitational event February 19-21 at the famed WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the potent program and their new Aston Martin Vantage GT4 have already hit the track for their initial test sessions and will launch their new program with eyes firmly planted on the top step of the podium in 2021.
