Rearden Racing Enters Four GT Machines for COTA Doubleheader With Burton/Kovarov, Novikov/Trinkler, McCoy/Westphal Lineups

AUSTIN, Texas – The Rearden Racing team brings three strong driving combinations to Circuit of the Americas (COTA) this weekend for the SRO America road racing event with the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, GT America and Pirelli GT4 America competition.

For the second doubleheader racing weekend of the 2021 campaign, the Utah-based organization is set to do battle at the state-of-the-art COTA 3.426-mile, 20-turn road course east of downtown Austin. Rearden Racing, led by Lara Tallman, comes to COTA after podium finishes in the SRO America season-opening rounds at Sonoma Raceway.

The team of Jeff Burton and Vesko Kozarov, both of Salt Lake City, will compete in the two 90-minute, two-driver feature races on Saturday and Sunday in the GT World Challenge America division with their potent No. 91 Burton Lumber/Rearden Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 sports car. The Lamborghini mount made its debut with the Rearden Racing team last month with sixth and eighth place finishes in the GT World Challenge America GT3 Pro-Am division.

Burton will double duty this weekend at COTA by competing in the GT America Masters class with his No. 191 Burton Lumber/Rearden Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 machine. Jeff scored second and third at Sonoma last month in the two 40-minute sprint races.

In the two 60-minute, two-driver Pirelli GT4 America events, Rearden Racing will field two Audi R8 LMS GT4 cars in the Pro/Am category with Dmitri Novikov of Los Angeles and Owen Trinkler of Nashville teaming in the No. 29 sports car while Kris McCoy of Pleasant Grove, UT, and Jeff Westphal of San Carlos, CA combine driving duties in the No. 888 vehicle.

“The season opener at Sonoma Raceway was a good learning process for our Rearden squad with new drivers and new equipment,” said Tallman. “And, most recently, the COTA test was very good overall for our team entering this weekend’s doubleheader. We have been successful at COTA in previous years and that is our goal now, to get to the top of the podium.”

The Rearden Racing weekend at COTA will be a busy one with a variety of practice rounds beginning Friday (April 30) with GT America at 9 a.m. CDT, GT World Challenge America at 10:20 a.m. CDT and Pirelli GT4 America at 11:20 a.m. CDT. GT America races (40 minutes each) are scheduled for Saturday (May 1) at 4:45 p.m. CDT and Sunday (May 2) at 3:50 p.m. CDT.

The two 90-minute Fanatec World Challenge America features are set for Saturday at 1:15 p.m. CDT and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CDT with the 60-minute Pirelli GT4 America contests getting underway at 11:30 a.m. CDT on Saturday and Sunday’s finale at 11:00 a.m. CDT.

The CBS Sports Network highlight telecasts from COTA will air on Sunday (May 2) live at 2:00 p.m. EDT with an encore showing at 10 p.m. EDT. The GT America highlights will be shown on May 8 at 5:30 p.m. EDT and May 9 at 10:30 p.m. EDT on CBS Sports Net with the Pirelli GT4 America races set for May 8 at 6:30 p.m. EDT and May 9 at 9 p.m. EDT.
