Jason Bell Adds Another Podium Result to His 2021 Resume

Taking on the Virginia International Raceway (VIR), a track where he has had much success in the past, GMG Racing driver Jason Bell earned another podium result to add to his 2021 total. Competing in the GT America Powered by AWS program as well as the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX, Bell never ran outside the top-ten throughout the weekend, securing two top-five finishes and four top-tens.

“VIR has been good to me in the past and it was pretty good to me again this past weekend,” explained Bell. “The Aston Martin Vantage GT4 is an incredible machine, and we continue to fine tune and work our way forward. With a couple podiums already this season, it is only a matter of time before we are able to bring GMG Racing and Aston Martin a victory.”

Qualifying fourth for Saturday’s GT America Powered by AWS event, Bell was able to methodically work his way forward to cross the line in the second position and celebrate on the podium en route to adding more points towards his championship total. Sunday would see another top-five finish for the Floridian pilot as he earned a fifth-place result after starting on the front row. With an alignment that was knocked array due to first lap contact, Bell worked hard to keep his car on track and in one piece to salvage a fifth-place finish.

“I was really hoping to add a second podium result in GT America on Sunday, but it was just not meant to be,” added Bell. “A pair of top-five finishes is a great result for the team. We will take it and move on to the next one.”

Racing alongside Andrew Davis in Pirelli GT4 America SprintX, the duo scored a pair of top-ten results and on Sunday improved on their results from Saturday. Running in the Pro/Am class, Bell and Davis finished ninth on Saturday, a result that was not indicative of their true speed. Returning on Sunday with the goal to climb further up the results sheet, the second-year driver pairing drove to a sixth-place finish adding their season total of top-ten results.

Bell continued, “Thank you GMG Racing, Aston Martin, Andrew Davis and all of our partners for making 2021 a success so far. We will continue to push forward and achieve what we know we can.”

With ten weeks off before the next official event weekend at Road America August 27-29, Bell will enjoy some downtime before returning to the track with some test days before the late August race weekend.

Jason Bell would like to thank all of his partners for their continued support. A huge thanks to GMG Racing, Aston Martin Racing, Ceramic Pro USA and Gridsport.
