ELKHART LAKE, Wisc. - The fastest lap in the opening practice for Pirelli GT4 America was set at 2:33.466 by Guy Cosmo in the #39 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes AMG GT4 at Road America amid rapidly changing weather conditions. The session began with heavy rainfall dampening the racetrack and the expectation of fast lap times, but as the storm system moved east and the track dried out, drivers set increasingly quick times.

The top of the practice chart featured a handful of Pro-Am entries - the aforementioned #39 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes and the #15 BSport Racing Aston Martin AMR driven by Bryan Putt. The #34 of Bill Auberlen was third quickest in Pro-Am, with a time of 2:34.873.

In the Silver category, Jon Miller set the fastest time in his #94 BimmerWorld Racing BMW M4 at 2:34.932, ahead of the #72 Murillo Racing Mercedes AMG of Kenny Murillo.

Am class leader Kris Wilson led his category in the #16 Capstone Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4 with a time of 2:38.261, ahead of Mikel Miller in the #09 Automatic Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR and Michael McAleenan’s #5 Motorsport USA McLaren 570S.
