The Racers Group Locks Out Race 1 Front Row With Porsches; BMW Takes Race 2
The Racers Group dual entries locked out the front row of the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX West Rd.3 competition with Derek DeBoer taking the pole and teammate Kevin Woods siding up in P2.
DeBoer's #17 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR was on the move late in the session to post a 1:32.001-lap that to leap past his TRG teammate. Woods' leads the SprintX West Am Championship with Chris Bellomo and will start on the outside of the front row in the #67 Porsche 918 Cayman CS MR. In third, Brett Strom drove the #452 BMW M4 GT4 entry to a 1:32.271 lap and will look to capitalize on the TRG teammates in Race 1.
In Pro-Am entry, Jon Miller's 1:32.320-second lap in the #28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 led the class and Miller will start P4 overall for Race 1.
In the second qualifying session for Race 2, BMW teams returned the favor to Porsche and locked out the front row. The #19 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 took control early setting a fast lap of 1:31.123 to take pole position with Gregory Liefooghe behind the wheel.
Jason Wolfe in the #38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 qualified a close second at 1:32.250. P3 was claimed by ST Racing teammate Harry Gottsacker, driving the #28 BMW M4 GT4 to a 1:32.926 lap for the fourth round of competition.
In the Am category, Racers Edge driver Mark Pavan took the #54 Sin R1 GT4 machine to the class pole and will start Race 2 in P4.
Both Pirelli GT4 America races will be contested on Friday, March 20th with Race 1 kicking off at 10:00am PDT and Race 2 at 2:30pm PDT. Each race will be live-streamed at GT4-America.com and available on SiriusXM radio on channel 383 or 983 (app).
