Former GT4 Champion Greg Liefooghe & Damon Surzyshyn Join Fast Track Racing BMW M4 Sports Car Lineup for GT4 America Series

Liefooghe & Surzyshyn set to drive No. 11 Fast Track Racing BMW M4 GT4 machine in the 2022 Pirelli GT4 America campaign featuring “Going Pro SRO America” TV Series

Former SRO GT4 series champion Greg Liefooghe of San Francisco, CA, will team with Canadian driver Damon Surzyshyn in the No. 11 Fast Track Racing BMW M4 GT4 sports car in the 2022 Pirelli GT4 America road racing series set to begin at Sonoma Raceway on April 15-17, it was announced today.

The GT4 driving duo will be the second BMW M4 driver pairing for Fast Track Racing team, sponsored by Sewell Automotive Companies, after the Texas-based organization previously announced that paraplegic driver Tim Horrell will compete with Raphael Matos in a specially prepared No. 10 BMW M4 GT4 sports car in the 2022 SRO tour.

A special ‘behind-the-scenes” television series, “Going Pro SRO America” will follow Liefooghe and Surzyshyn throughout the Pirelli GT4 America tour in 2022 with an inside look at the Fast Track Racing operation. The TV documentary series will air on the CBS Sports Network which will be showing the 2021 Season 3 beginning in May.

Liefooghe, who grew up in Switzerland, comes to the Fast Track Racing contingent in 2022 after a very successful sports car racing career that includes the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge GTS Am class title and the 2019 SRO Pirelli GT4 America Pro-Am championship. The professional racer is one of the true veterans in the SRO series with eight years at Bimmerworld and six seasons at Steve Cameron Racing. Few drivers have Liefooghe’s experience in the BMW M4 GT4 chassis dating back to the car’s initial season in 2017. Greg also is a pro race driving coach when he is not behind the wheel of his BMW.

“I think I have put in over 50,000 miles of racing in the BMW M4 GT4 car in the last five years,” said Liefooghe, the former karting national champion. “I’m very pleased to join the Fast Track Racing team, definitely one of the top BMW teams in North America. A few years ago, Fast Track Racing won the worldwide title of BMW’s best customer team. I think we’ll have a lot of information to share between myself and the team. Damon is new to the BMW M4, but he has shown speed in his previous GT4 competition. I’m excited to team up for the 2022 Pirelli GT4 America SprintX series.”

Surzyshyn, the 44-year-old creator and executive producer of the “Going Pro SRO America” television series, makes the jump to the Fast Track Racing team this year after finishing eventh in last year’s Pirelli GT4 America Am point standings. The Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA, driver has competed in the TC America series in previous seasons with three-time series champion Tech Sport Racing.

“I’m looking forward to joining Fast Track Racing this year and co-driving with Greg,” said Surzyshyn. “Greg is one of BMW’s top GT4 competitors in North America and I know I will learn a great amount from his experience as a past series champion. Fast Track Racing has captured numerous road racing championships over the decades, and they field outstanding cars with a strong crew. Having the leadership of Toby Grahovec, a former driving champion, as the team manager gives Greg and myself a lot of confidence entering the first race at Sonoma.”

Grahovec, a multi-time Pirelli GT4 America race winner in the Fast Track Racing BMW M4 machines in recent years, will sit out driving in the 2022 SRO series to concentrate on Fast Track Racing’s on-track effort. And Toby is excited about his squad’s GT4 two-car lineup this year.

“We felt it was important for me to lead the team outside of the race car this year,” said Grahovec. “We have two strong cars and good driver lineups this year in the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX series. I’m excited to see how the pairings work together with our crews as we prepare for the season opener in Sonoma next month. We feel our team’s cars will be very competitive when the green flag drops.”

Fast Track Racing plans to continue testing with the BMW M4 sports cars and the drivers as they prepare for the Sonoma Raceway SRO kickoff doubleheader events.

Liefooghe and Surzyshyn are scheduled to drive the No. 11 Fast Track Racing BMW M4 GT4 machine in the seven-weekend, 14-race tour beginning at Sonoma Raceway April 15-17 followed by Ozark International Raceway May 20-22, Virginia International Raceway June 17-19, Watkins Glen International July 22-24, Road America Aug. 19-21, Sebring International Raceway Sept. 23-25 and Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oct. 7-9.

Fast Track Racing has produced a sensational on-track racing record in the SRO road racing series for decades with 26 professional wins and over 100 total wins, including 22 poles and 113 podiums, with 23 of the fastest laps. In 2018, Fast Track Racing was awarded the BMW Motorsports Sports Trophy Team of the Year in Germany, won among all BMW customer racing teams worldwide.
