Dominic Starkweather Joins Dexter Racing for SRO Pirelli GT4 America

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (March 30, 2022) – Dominic Starkweather spent the 2021 SRO Pirelli GT4 America season simply preparing for the 2022 season. The 20-year-old from Cave Creek, Arizona, spent his first season in professional racing sampling different race cars and teams with the goal of gaining valuable experience, and learning new tracks and cars. Ultimately, Dominic drove Saleen, Porsche, and BMW race cars in 2021, scoring a SRO GT America class win at VIR, with several other top finishes in a partial season effort.

After witnessing the performance of the championship winning Toyota GR Supra GT4 first hand on-track, Dominic chose the Supra as his race car for 2022. Dominic had previous positive experience with the Toyota brand, having won the 2020 SCCA US Major Tour Western Conference championship and SCCA Cal Club championship with the Toyota GR 86/Subaru BRZ platform.

The next step was finding the right race team to run with, and after assessing several compelling opportunities, Dominic chose Dexter Racing, a highly accomplished, family- run race team and full-service race car preparation company. Dexter Racing, with drivers Warren and Ryan Dexter piloting an Aston Martin Vantage GT, finished 5th in the 2021 SRO Pirelli GT4 America Silver standings, with a win, one 2nd place, and four 3rd place finishes highlighting their season.

Ryan Dexter will share driving duties with Dominic Starkweather for the 2022 SRO Pirelli GT4 America season competing in the Pro-Am class and Dexter Racing team founder, Zane Dexter, will manage the program.

“It’s taken a while to get everything sorted out but I’m super excited to team up with Ryan Dexter and Dexter Racing to try to win a championship in our Toyota GR Supra GT4,” remarked Dominic Starkweather. “We have already tested the Supra a couple of times and raced it in a local SCCA event and it truly is next-level and the best race car I have ever driven. I can’t wait to get started at Sonoma in a just a few weeks,” Dominic continued.

A unique part of Dominic Starkweather’s 2022 racing program will be a new initiative called the Construction Alliance. Because construction is one of the top industries of occupation among motorsports fans and stakeholders, Dominic is using his racing program to create the Construction Alliance, a marketing platform that allows companies in the construction industry and related industries, to use the world of professional auto racing to create truly memorable experiences in an exciting environment, and more importantly, create business opportunities that deliver value. This will be done through a combination of branding, public relations, VIP hospitality/networking events, and other activations. Starkweather Roofing and Beacon Building Products are founding members of the Construction Alliance with more members to be announced soon. For more information on the Construction Alliance, contact Brian Bonner of Bonner Race Marketing at bonner@brmrace.com.

The SRO Pirelli GT4 America season kicks off at Sonoma Raceway on April 15-17. All SRO GT4 America races are streamed live on the GTWorld YouTube channel and broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
