Sonoma, California -  The clouds and rain that covered Sonoma Raceway made way for the sunshine as the #47 Porsche 718 Cayman GTR RS of NOLASPORT driven by Scott Noble and Jason Hart led the pack with a lap time of 1:45.593 including drivers in the ProAm, Silver, AM, and Invitational categories during the first practice session of the Pirelli GT4 2022 season.

Noble and Hart racing in the Pro-Am class was followed #2 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 of GMG Racing piloted by Jason Bell and Andrew Davis respectively with a lap time of 1:45.954 in the Pro-Am division. Rounding out the top overall three was the #19 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport driven by Alain Stad and Thomas Merrill for NOLASPORT with a time of 1:46.289 in the AM category. 

In Pro-Am, following Noble/Hart and Bell/Davis, the #15 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 BSport Racing driven by Bryan Putt and Kenton Koch finished third in class with a time of 1:46.332.

Following Stad and Merrill in the AM class was the #21 Toyota GR Supra GT4, Accelerating Performance driven by Nick Shanny and Terry Borcheller with a time of 1:47.370. With a time of 1:47.480 was the #032 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CLUBSPORT MR, GMG Racing, driven by Kyle Washington and James Sonofras.

The Silver class saw the #32 Mercedes-AMG GT4, Snow Brothers Racing driven by Kris Wilson and Cole Ciraulo post the fastest time of the practice with a 1:46.725, followed by the #34 Mercedes-AMG GT4, Conquest Racing/JWF Motorsports who put down a time of 1:48.293. Rounding out the top three in the category was #68 Toyota GR Supra GT4, Smooge Racing with Kevin Conway and John Geesbreght at the wheel, and a 1:51.122 lap time.

Team Saleen competing at Sonoma in the Invitational class of the Pirelli GT4 America recorded their fastest lap of 1.49.815 during the first practice of the season in the #49 Saleen 1 GT4 piloted by Steve Saleen and Eric Curran.
