Premier Racing Coming in Hot to VIR

Premier Racing Coming in Hot to VIR

Alton, Virginia | June 17, 2022 | Fresh off its first two SRO class victories at NOLA Motorsports Park, Premier Racing is coming in hot to VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). With summer-time temperatures in the 80s and 90s F expected, hot they will remain. The 3.27-mile, 17-turn natural terrain road course in Alton, Virginia is an ideal venue for the Las Vegas, Nevada-based operation to keep the momentum going in both the SRO Pirelli GT4 America and the SRO GT America sports car racing series. The Kent Moore-managed program will field the No. 120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport race car in both series with Adam Adelson (Las Vegas, Nevada) racing alone in the twin, 40-minute GT America rounds. He will be joined by Elliott Skeer (San Diego, California) in the two Pro-Am class, 60-minute races of GT4 America. Rounds 5 and 6 of both championships are being contended at the track in Southern Virginia, June 17 – 19.

VIR’s elevation changes, long straights and flowing corners promise to give the team an opportunity to continue the success found with the newest Porsche GT4 car. The mid-engine machine has proven an ideal platform for the GT4 America Pro-Am class partnership of Adelson/Skeer. The car, like the pairing, is a perfect balance when setup by the skillful engineering hands of Moore. The team scored the GT4 America class win in Rounds 3 and 4 in New Orleans, in the process grabbing second-place overall for both of the 60-minute races as well. It was the best finish for the young team in the road car-based race series to-date. Adelson will take on the GT America competition solo at the wheel of the same car. The double sessions prove an asset in both categories giving drivers and team more information to maximize performance.

The busy weekend of racing opened with testing on Friday, June 17 at 8:00 a.m. ET and a first official practice for the GT America at 8:30 a.m. for Adelson. Skeer will have his first chance in the No. 120 Porsche with GT4 America Practice 1 coming at Noon ET. Practice 2 for GT America will start at 1:45 p.m. ET and the day will end with a 45-minute second practice for GT4 America at 5:15 p.m. ET. Saturday brings qualifying for both series. First, Adelson will have 15-minutes to turn his best qualifying lap for the GT America grid at 8:00 a.m. local time. GT4 America qualifying is broken into two parts, one for each driver. The first of the two 15-minute time trials will start at 10:40 a.m. followed by Driver 2 at 11:00 a.m. ET. With the grids set, Adelson will take the green flag for the first 40-minute GT America race at 12:10 p.m. ET/9:10 a.m. PT. The 45-minute clock on GT4 America Race 1 will start at 4:05 p.m. ET/1:05 a.m. PT. Sunday, June 19 will have an early start as GT America Race 2 starts at 8:45 a.m. ET/5:45 a.m. PT. The second race of the weekend for GT4 America will go green at 10:55 a.m./7:55 a.m. PT.

Adam Adelson, No. 120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport |

“"I'm ecstatic to be back at VIR, my favorite track in North America. Coming off of such a successful weekend at NOLA, I'm feeling really good about our chances for some good results here. However, it's clear to the whole team that we need to stay humble in such a highly competitive field. I'm also looking forward to running in GT America again, as I have yet to see a checkered flag in GT America in our new GT4 RS this year, and I hope the same success it brought us in the Sprint X format will carry over."

Elliott Skeer, No. 120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport |

“We as a team feel the momentum of NOLA can carry on into VIR. With Adam’s driving reaching new heights and the crew’s first-class operation in motion, I’m confident in both my and our abilities at handling everything this weekend has to offer. It’s incredibly rewarding to achieve the rewards of hard work and we are constantly pushing to make that happen this again!”

Kent Moore, No. 120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport |

“As a team, we knew we had what it took before we won at NOLA. However, I think it might have surprised a few people since we are a relatively new race team in SRO. Now the word is out a little bit. But we aren’t going to change anything we are doing. Those first two wins are great, but they are behind us now. We celebrated them and we appreciate them but most importantly we learned from them. We have a lot more to accomplish. As a team, we set goals for this weekend and for the long-term. We know what we have in this team. We just keep making small adjustments. We aren’t thinking about anything but what we have to do to win at VIR. Our target is nothing less than four wins here. Everything else takes care of itself in time.”
