Watkins Glen, New York - The fourth event of the Pirelli GT4 America season is well underway at the picturesque Watkins Glen International, a track well-known for its challenging turns and elevation changes.

The first practice session proved to be tricky for the 68 drivers in attendance, as a Red Flag removed 20 minutes of valuable track time due to an oil spill on the track. Cars were able to rejoin the circuit with two and a half minutes remaining in the session, meaning they had time for one last flying lap. Most of the field elected to switch drivers for that last precious lap.

In the Silver category, Championship leader Stevan McAleer claimed the fastest lap time with a 1:55.371 in his #18 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, followed by Championship runner-up Gavin Sanders in the #34 Conquest Racing/JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4. Sanders and co-driver Michai Stephens clinched their first win of the season at VIR a few weeks ago.

Multiple podium finisher Austen Smith (#51 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4) laid down the third fastest lap time around the 3.84 miles Upstate New York track.

Aaron Telitz (#69 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4) was the quickest in the Pro-Am class with a lap time of 1:55.457, which also put him in second place in the overall standings. Flying Lizard Motorsports driver Andy Lee set the second fastest lap time in his #8 Aston Martin Vantage GT4. He and his teammate Elias Sabo already have two podium finishes under their belts this season. Finishing Practice 1 in third position was the second BMW M4 GT4 from Auto Technic Racing, driven by Tom Capizzi.

Finally, in the AM class, points leader James Clay (#36 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4) claimed the fastest lap time with an impressive 1.57.521, edging out Rob Walker by 0.116 (#23 Auto Technic Racing BMW GT4) and Jaden Lander (#72 KRUGSPEED Toyota GR Supra GT4).

Practice 2 starts at 5:15 PM EST, followed by Qualifying at 10:40 and 11:00 AM EST on Saturday.
