Watkins Glen, New York - With a double rainbow over Watkins Glen International, the Pirelli GT4 America field took to the track for their final practice session. While a storm momentarily came in to soak the pavement, delaying the session by 5 minutes, the sun decided to make a late appearance to eventually dry the track. Some drivers elected to start their session on the rain tires before eventually moving to dry Pirellis.

It was a game of musical chairs at the top of the charts, as no one could have guessed who would prevail on this Friday evening. One thing’s for sure: the difference in times was so minimal that it will be impossible to predict the results of the weekend.

In the Silver class, John Geesbreght (#58 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4) went the fastest with a lap of 1:56.101. However, he was second overall to Pro/Am Auto Technic Racing’s John Capestro-Dubets in his BMW M4 GT4, who was the only driver to set a lap under the 1:55 mark.

Ryan Dexter (#112 Dexter Racing Toyota Supra GT GT4) was the second fastest in the Silver class, only 0.069 slower than the other Toyota Supra GR GT4 in front of him. Rounding up the Top 3 in the Silver class was Zac Anderson (#51 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4).

Second in Pro-Am and fifth overall was Kenton Koch (#15 Bsport Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4), who is currently sitting 4th in the Pro-Am Championship thanks to a podium sweep at Sonoma. Laying down the third fastest lap time of the Pro-Am class, but missing out the second place by only 0.090, was Canadian driver Aaron Povoledo commanding his #50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4.

The quickest lap in the Am category was set by Terry Borcheller (#20 Carrus Callas Raceteam Toyota Supra GR GT4). Coming in fifteenth overall but second in class was Canadian Alex Filsinger (#53 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4). Right on his tail was James Clay commanding the #36 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4.

Qualifying gets underway at 10:40 AM ET and 11:00 AM ET on Saturday and Race 1 starts at 4:05 PM ET.
