Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin -  The sun came out for the first practice of Pirelli GT4 America at Road America. The legendary Elkhart Lake venue attracted thousands of fans for the fifth round of the 2022 season, and rightly so. Drivers across all classes—Silver, Pro-Am and Am—have been putting on quite a show since the beginning of the season, and Road America is shaping up to be no different.

Although the session was plagued by a long red flag, Terry Borcheller laid down the fastest time in Am and overall aboard his #20 Carrus Callas Raceteam Toyota GR Supra GT4 on the 4.048 miles Wisconsin track. However, his 2:17.477 lap time was almost matched by Pro-Am pairing of Aaron Telitz and Todd Coleman commanding the #69 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4.

Third overall, but first in the Silver class, was the sister #68 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 driven by Kevin Conway and John Geesbreght. Championship leaders Stevan McAleer and Eric Filgueiras (#18 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport) laid down the fourth fastest overall time and the second-best time in the Silver class. This was followed by newcomers Mike Skeen and Grayson Farischon, making their GT4 America debut in their #59 G2 Racing/GSpeed BMW M4 GT4.

The Pro-Am class was extremely tight, with just a hair separating the 2:18.568 lap time of Kenton Koch in his #15 Bsport Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, and the 2:18.637 from points leader Jason Hart in his #47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Rounding off the Top 3 in the Am class; the #19 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Matt Travis, co-driven by Alain Stad, and the #2 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 of Charlie Postins and James Clay.

Practice 2 starts at 5:15 PM CST, followed by Qualifying at 10:40 and 11:00 AM on Saturday.
