Sebring, Florida - Saturday’s Pirelli GT4 America qualifying sessions took place under bright skies with rising track temperatures. Drivers across the Silver, Pro-Am, and Am classes took to the Florida circuit to set the grid for the upcoming two races. The qualifying format for the GT4 field has driver 1 setting the grid for the first race on Saturday, with driver 2 setting the grid for race 2 on Sunday.

Within the Silver class, RS1 is hoping to clinch the championship this weekend.  In the Pro-Am class, it’s still anyone’s guess as to who will take the title. Premier Racing has a slight lead over Nolasport, but Auto Technic Racing and Flying Lizard Motorsports are still within striking distance.

The first qualifying session set the stage for the Race 1 starting positions.

Silver

After dominating in both practice sessions, Silver class championship leader Eric Filgueiras (#18 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport) took pole position in the first qualifying session with a time of 2.10.789, establishing a healthy gap of 1.197 seconds to second-place qualifier Michai Stephens (#34 Conquest Racing/JMF Mercedes AMG GT4). Austen Smith in the #51 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 followed closely behind in third.

Pro-Am

The Pro-Am class was dominated by Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 machines. It was a close battle for the top spot, with Moisey Uretsky clinching pole position in the #55 Accelerating Performance Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, separated by a mere 0.070 seconds from Elias Sabo (#8 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4) in second. Ross Chouest took third place in the #50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4.

Am

Johan Schwartz (#80 Rooster Hall Racing BMW M4 GT4) delivered a stellar performance in the Am class by securing pole position and the third-fastest overall time of the session with a 2.12.280. Charlie Postins remained consistent as ever and followed closely behind in second. The Rooster Hall Racing team will need to be watching closely in their mirrors for the #36 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4. The #53 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 will line up third in the class with Rob Walker behind the wheel.

Race 1 starts at 4:05 PM ET.

The second 15-minute qualifying session set the starting grid ahead of Race 2.

The RS1 team displayed their dominance in the second qualifying session as well, with Eric Filgueiras’ teammate Stevan McAleer (#18 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport) adding another pole position to the team’s tally. The Pro-Am drivers displayed an incredible performance in the overall qualifying times, making up the majority of the top 10 overall best times. Notably, Jason Hart (#47 Nolasport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport) secured pole position in the Pro-Am class and simultaneously set the second-fastest overall time of the session. Aaron Telitz (#69 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4) qualified second in the class, only separated from pole by 0.243 seconds.
