Indianapolis, Indiana -  The Pirelli GT4 America field took on the Capital of Speed Thursday afternoon for their first practice session of the day. Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be the host to a thrilling end of the season, as the title is up for grabs in both the Silver and Pro-Am classes.

Sitting second in points, Michai Stephens and Gavin Sanders (#4 Conquest Racing/JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4) set the fastest lap around the Brickyard with a flying time of 1:30.358. The Pro-Am #69 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 co-driven by Aaron Telitz and Todd Coleman was 0.103 off first place, leaving the third place to the #52 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 of Tom Capizzi and John Capestro-Dubets.

The Silver class duo of Eric Filgueiras and Stevan McAleer (#18 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport), who are well underway to winning the title this weekend, were fourth in the overall standings, but second in the Silver class. The next Silver class car, the #68 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 driven by teammates Kevin Conway and John Geesbreght, was in 18th place.

Rounding off the Top 5, but third in the Pro-Am class was the #10 Fast Track Racing BMW M4 GT4 of Tim Horrell and Toby Grahovec, who is no stranger to the series. Scott Noble and Jason Hart’s #47 Nolasport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport was a mere 0.057 away from 5th place overall and 3rd place in class.

The Championship battle is tight in the Pro-Am class as four teams could still clinch the title, with the likes of Nolasport, Premier Racing, Flying Lizard Motorsports and Auto Technic Racing. While most of these teams were in the Top 10 overall, the #120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer slotted further down the standings in 17th overall, 12th in class.

It was a battle for the top spot in the Am class, as Charlie Postins posted a speedy lap early in the session aboard his #36 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4. When his teammate James Clay took over, he remained at the top of the Am charts until Canadian driver Alex Filsinger set a better lap in his #53 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4. Just 0.02 separated the two teams!

Rounding off the Top 3 in the Am class was Nick Shanny co-driving the #20 Carrus Callas Raceteam Toyota GR Supra GT4 with Terry Borcheller.

Practice 2 starts at 5:30 PM ET, followed by Qualifying at 9:45 AM and 10:05 AM on Friday.
