CrowdStrike Racing Speeds into Louisiana’s NOLA with Winning Momentum

Another full weekend is on tap for CrowdStrike Racing as it heads to NOLA Motorsports Park for competition in SRO Motorsports America seeking more race victories and championship points.

CrowdStrike Racing’s three SRO programs will be in action at NOLA – a 2.75-mile, 16-turn circuit on the outskirts of New Orleans:

  • Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS: No. 04 CrowdStrike Mercedes-AMG GT3 from CrowdStrike Racing by Riley for George Kurtz and Colin Braun
  • GT America Powered by AWS: No. 04 CrowdStrike Mercedes-AMG GT3 from CrowdStrike Racing by Riley for George Kurtz
  • Pirelli GT4 America: No. 92 CrowdStrike/AWS BMW M4 GT4 from Random Vandals Racing for Kevin Boehm and Kenton Koch

It’s a strong lineup for CrowdStrike Racing, which earned a great deal of success a year ago when SRO America and its teams visited NOLA for the first time.

Kurtz and Braun finished first – one of their three victories in 2022 – and third at NOLA last year. The pairing is off to a similarly good start this season with a victory and runner-up finish earlier this month at Sonoma Raceway to open the season with their No. 04 CrowdStrike Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The results have Kurtz, Braun and CrowdStrike Racing by Riley leading the GT World Challenge Pro-Am Drivers and Teams points standings after two rounds.

While GT World Challenge America returns to New Orleans, the GT America Powered by AWS will compete at the circuit for the first time. Just as in GT World Challenge, Kurtz will compete in a pair of races – 40-minute, single-driver sprints – with the No. 04 CrowdStrike Mercedes-AMG GT3.

This will be the third weekend of action for GT America. Following the season-opener at St. Petersburg, defending series champion Kurtz earned a runner-up and third-place finish at Sonoma to continue defending his Championship status.

The opening round of Pirelli GT4 America saw CrowdStrike Racing make its debut in the highly contested championship. CrowdStrike Racing driver Kevin Boehm will continue co-driving with Kenton Koch in the No. 92 CrowdStrike BMW M4 GT4 for the pair of 60-minute races.

Despite being a new pairing, the duo acclimated itself well at Sonoma with a runner-up finish in their first race together and the second-place grid position for the second race. Contact early on in the weekend finale meant an early retirement for the CrowdStrike BMW, but there were plenty of positives to take going forward for the balance of the season.

Boehm has tasted success at NOLA before with a Touring Car victory and third-place finish last year in a CrowdStrike Racing entry.

Driver quotes ahead of the NOLA Motorsports Park SRO America weekend

George Kurtz, No. 04 CrowdStrike Mercedes-AMG GT3: “Our focus is on maintaining the momentum we’ve built coming out of Sonoma. The CrowdStrike Racing by Riley team is in good early-season form, and we’re coming to a track where we have had success before. Our Mercedes-AMG GT3 should be well-suited to the track, so we are anticipating strong results in both GT World Challenge and GT America.”

Colin Braun, No. 04 CrowdStrike Mercedes-AMG GT3: “I’m really excited for NOLA! The CrowdStrike Racing team had a win there last year so that always gives you confidence. This is still a very new track for George and I, so it is fun to continue to learn what it takes to be fast from a driving and setup standpoint. The CrowdStrike Racing by Riley team got off to a great start in Sonoma and George is driving super well, so we will keep this momentum rolling!”

Kevin Boehm, No. 92 CrowdStrike/AWS BMW M4 GT4: “I am very excited to get back to NOLA Motorsports Park, this time for our second event in Pirelli GT4 America. We have been hard at work behind the scenes to build on our success from Sonoma. NOLA and Sonoma have very little in common, so it will be key to quickly dial our BMW M4 GT4 into the track as I continue to adjust to this new platform. I've been successful at NOLA in Touring Car, and I hope that knowledge and experience can carry over to help us this weekend.”
