TechSport Racing Takes on GT4 Competition with Gusto

The Pirelli GT4 America series is known for showcasing elbows-out racing with large grids at every track. TechSport Racing is one of the teams taking the series up on its challenges and forging a proving ground.

TechSport Racing (TSR) has built a brand around being versatile across series and cars. Along with running two Nissan Z GT4 cars in the Pirelli GT4 America, TSR has two entries in the Toyota GR Cup and the TC America powered by Skip Barber series.

TSR and Nissan Motorsport aren’t only developing a car on track but developing a new relationship as the team and manufacturer take on GT4 America together.

“Nissan is absolutely committed to developing a competitive car for sale in the 2024 season,” said Team Principle Kevin Anderson. “There have been amazing collaborations between the factory engineers at Nissan/NISMO and TechSport Racing.  The car is a force to be reckoned with in the 2024 season.”

There is a natural flow between team, driver and car thanks to the transparent relationships forged under the TSR tent. The two GT4 America entries include the No. 22 Nissan of Colin Harrison and Eric Powell and the No. 23 Nissan of Tyler Stone and Bryan Heitkotter. The four drivers constantly share data and findings at the betterment of the overall team.

“TechSport racing is an extremely collaborative team,” Anderson said. “Our drivers across every class compare data, analyze the tracks and work together to ensure the maximum performance is reached every session we go out on the track.

“The GT4 drivers will sit in the office in the hauler and engage each other in finding the optimum line on the track.  Each driver has their preferences, but each driver pairing works to ensure they both have the best car they can possibly put on track.”

“The Nissan Z GT4 has improved immensely since the start of the season,” Anderson said. “The primary focus for the car this season is to perfect it for 2024.

“However, it has already shown it can be competitive.  Beginning with Sonoma’s third-place finish and every event since, the Nissan Z is demonstrating why it has been a legend in the automotive marketplace for decades. As a team, we are extremely proud of the wonderful friendships that we have formed with our Nissan/NISMO counterparts. Their knowledge and tenacity have made this season much more enjoyable than we could have ever expected.”
