Andretti Autosport Race Report: Long Beach

Andretti Autosport Race Report: Long Beach
Sunshine and the ocean, the perfect pairing for racing on the streets of downtown Long Beach. GT4 America was back in action on the 1.968 mile temporary street course. First practice of the weekend, Jarett Andretti finished P1 overall in the session and P1 in the GT4 Sprint class. Qualifying showed promising speed but a parts failure occurred causing the team to run a limited number of laps to end up qualifying fifth. Sunday’s race looked optimistic with the car having impressive speed. On the initial start, the car experienced an electrical issue; the car jumped into automatic mode and shifted extremely early, causing Andretti to drop from fifth to 10th. While attempting to pass in Turn 1, the No. 18 Endurance Auto Warranty McLaren grazed the tires and ended up taking the mirror off and scuffing the right side up. Despite the slight mishap in Turn 1,  Andretti was able move up to seventh to finish the day.

Up next for Blancpain World Challenge GT4 America is a double header weekend at Virgina International Raceway on April 27 and 28, 2019.
