The Am Class of the Pirelli GT4 America series has a large entry list in its own right. The series has seven races completed after a rained-out Race Two at NOLA Motorsports Park was pushed to Sebring International Raceway. Now, the series stares down seven remaining rounds.

Leading the way in the AM class is defending Champions’ Charlie Postins and James Clay. The Bimmerworld duo have dominated the class winning four of the seven races and collecting two podium finishes to top it all off. They lead by 38 points with a total of 133.

“It’s way too early to think about points,” said Clay. “But I am thrilled with the position we’re in. The championship has never been as highly contested with such a large field of capable drivers and teams, and we’ve lost a championship while leading in the final race of the season before. We have half a season to go still, but of course I’d rather be leading the points than hoping to catch up.”

“Given the rough start that we had to the season I feel fortunate to be in the championship lead and the standing is really a testament to an all-round team performance,” added Postins. “With that said we still have seven races to go so we will not be taking anything for granted. If we execute in the same fashion as we have as the last few race weekends, I think we have a solid chance of having a good championship result.”

In second place is Robert Mau and Chris Allen. Mau and Allen pushed the No. 438 STR38 Motorsports BMW M4 GT4 to come alive at Circuit Of The Americas with a win and followed the performance up with two second-place finishes. The duo has three podium appearances in total after claiming a second-place finish in Race Two at Sonoma Raceway.

Nicholas Shanny and Terry Borcheller have gathered 72 points and sit third in the points standings. The duo started the season hot at Sonoma with a podium finish and win. They’ll need to find that rhythm in their No. 20 Carrus Callas Raceteam Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO again to move closer to a championship win.

Currently in fourth place is Paul Kiebler and Jon Branam with 45 points in the No. 77 TR3 Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4. They have a podium position in their catalog of finishes. They’ll be head-to-head with Brady Behrman and Coby Shield who sit in fifth place with 43 points, a meager two points behind Kiebler and Branam.

Paul Sparta and Al Carter have 40 points and sit sixth in the Drivers Points Championship. The duo found their first podium finish in Race One at VIRginia International Raceway in the No. 98 Random Vandals Racing  BMW M4 GT4. Nelson Calle and Juan Pablo Martinez sit seventh and one point away from Carter and Sparta with 39 points to their names. They also have earned one podium finish.

With 36 points in eighth place is the pairing of Anthony Geraci and Jaden Lander. They have competed in five races and earned two, second-place finishes in those five outings. Geraci and Lander will need to push their No.72 KRUGSPEED Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO to gain ground.

The driver's standings gets very interesting from ninth place back as six positions are separated by one point per position. Satakal Khalsa and Rob Walker are in ninth place with 31 points. They took home a third-place finish in Race One at COTA.

With 31 points and tied for ninth is the duo of Hannah Grisham and Rianna O’Meara-Hunt with Heart of Racing. Tommy Johnson and Michael Auriemma have collected 29 points thus far in the season and are 10th in the driver standings. In 11th position is Joey DaSilva and Isabella Robusto with 28 points.

Custodio Toledo and Paulo Carcasci began the season with a win but have had rough outings ever since. They have 27 points and are in the 12th position. The pairing of Roland Krainz and Austin Krainz sit in 13th with 26 points apiece.

Richard Edge and Matt Halcome have gathered 13 points and are currently 14th place in the standings. They’re followed by Matt Joffe and Grant Maiman who have gathered nine points this season. With nine points and in 16th position is Sean Gibbons and Sam Owen. They’re followed by Robb Holland and Alain Stad who collected one point in their two outings in the series.

Rounding out competitors is a list of drivers tied for 18th position including the duo of David Peterman and Lee Carpentier. They’re tied with Kyle Washington and James Sofronas, Tony Ave, and Michael Dayton and Jason Griscavage.

The next race for the Pirelli GT4 America series takes place at Road America Aug. 18-20. The drivers have three calendar events with seven races remaining to make a lunge for better standing.
