Nissan Motorsports: Sonoma Raceway Pirelli GT4 America Preview

Nissan Motorsports enters their sophomore season in the Pirelli GT4 America championship with twice the Z presence. The two-car TechSport Racing Team will be joined by single car entries from Black Dog Racing and Flying Lizard Motorsports, giving Nissan three teams with championship pedigrees.

Nissan Motorsports Manager Greg Nelson noted that, “Everyone at Nissan and the extended Z community is eager to battle the best from America, Europe, and Japan. With the combined efforts of TechSport, Black Dog, and Flying Lizard, we’ll be aiming to add to the Z racing legacy that started over 50 years ago with John Morton and the BRE 240Z in SCCA club racing.”

TechSport Racing will once again field two cars.  Colin Harrison will team up with Eric Powell in the #22 while Michai Stephens partners with Jonathan Neudorf in #23

Tony Gaples will share the #9 Black Dog Racing Z with Michael Cooper.

The all Canadian driver lineup in the #5 Flying Lizard Motorsports Z will be Stefan Rzadzinski and Damir Hot.

Nissan will kick off the Sonoma weekend with an informal NISMO Z tech talk for SAE, the Z Owners of Northern California (ZONC), and media at the Z Car Garage in San Jose on Wednesday, April 3rd.  There will also be a Nissan only ZONC car corral at the Sonoma Raceway on Saturday.

The official race weekend begins on Friday, April 5th with two practice sessions.  Saturday will consist of qualifying and the first of the two 60-minute races.  The weekend will wrap up on Sunday with the second race.

Sonoma race tickets start at just $20 with kids 12 and under admitted free with a paid adult.
