Liefooghe/Quinlan, Hart/Travis Ready for SprintX Battle at Road America

14 September 2019

ELKHART LAKE, WI - Road America, Wisconsin's National Park of Speed, will host SRO's Pirelli GT4 America SprintX and SprintX East series September 20-22. Presented by Window World, 19 entries across both series will compete in two 60-minute races at the 4.048-mile, 14-turn road course.

One Point Separates Pro/Am SprintX Protagonists

For much of the early part of the 2019 season, the driver duo of Jason Hart and Matt Travis dominated the national Pro/Am SprintX division winning the first five races. But since then, the team of Greg Liefooghe and Sean Quinlan have won five of the next seven races including a sweep of Watkins Glen and they come into the weekend one point ahead of Hart and Travis (233-232).

Liefooghe and Quinlan will co-pilot the #19 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4, while Hart and Travis will pilot the #47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR.

Looking to play the spoiler role this weekend are teams Chris Ohmacht and Toby Grahovec co-driving the #92 Classic BMW BMW M4 GT4, Michael Dinan and Robby Foley in the #21 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR, GMG Racing's Jason Bell and Alec Udell in the #2 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR, and Colin Mullan and Jarett Andretti in the #36 Andretti Autosport McLaren 570S GT4.

Calvert/Keegan versus Wilson/Allen for Bragging Rights in SprintX Am Division

In the SprintX Am national divison, the driver duo of Preston Calvert and Matthew Keegan in the #51 Team Panoz Racing Panoz Avezzano GT will look to hold off main championship contenders Kris Wilson and John Allen in the #16 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4. Calvert and Keegan come into the weekend atop the championship standings 26 points ahead of Allen and Wilson.

SprintX East Titles on the Line at Road America

With the final two rounds of the SprintX East series championship set for Road America, Ian Lacy Racing's Karl Wittmer sits atop the Pro/Am division driver's championship standings with 129 points. He will co-drive the #24 Ian Lacy Racing Ford Mustang GT4 with Drew Staveley. Wittmer holds a slim two-point lead over Park Place Motorsports' Alan Brynjolfsson and Trent Hindman heading to Wisconsin. Brynjolfsson is the top Am driver in the division and along with Hindman will drive the #77 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR. Only three points behind them are the Classic BMW driver duo of Justin Raphael and Stevan McAleer - they'll drive the #29 BMW M4 GT4.

KRUGSPEED enters the #27 McLaren 570S GT4 for Anthony Geraci and Elivan Goulart. In limited action this season, the driver duo has won two races (Rounds 5 and 6 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) and could play a significant spoiler role in the championship.

Also entered for the Pro/Am SprintX East races are Dan Weyland and Andrew Davis in the #81 Kelly-Moss Audi R8 LMS GT4, and Patrick Byrne and Guy Cosmo in the #89 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4.

In the SprintX East Am division, TRG - The Racers Group driver Sean Gibbons comes into the weekend atop the championship standings with 136 points - he will co-drive the #17 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR with Derek DeBoer.

Only two points behind Gibbons and tied for second in the standings is the driver duo of Matthew Fassnacht and Christian Szymczak - they will co-drive the #34 Murillo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Epic Motorsports drivers James Clay and Randy Mueller sit tied for third only three points behind Fassnacht and Szymczak - they will drive the #3 BMW M4 GT4. BGB Motorsports Group's Thomas Collingwood and John Tecce sit tied for fourth with 123 points and will drive the #69 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR.
