Pirelli GT4 SprintX Championship Duel in Vegas Pits Liefooghe/Quinlan Against Hart/Travis

Las Vegas, NV – Las Vegas Motor Speedway is set to host the final two Pirelli GT4 SprintX and SprintX West series races of 2019. A focal point of the SprintX weekend races will be the Pro/Am Division Driver’s Championship battle pitting the driver duo of Greg Liefooghe and Sean Quinlan versus Jason Hart and Matt Travis. Running from October 17-20, once the final checkered falls the champions will be crowned Sunday evening at the year-end Awards Celebration at The Bellagio. 

Of note, it’s the first time the GT4 SprintX series will race in Vegas and the Speedway and it’s also the first time the series with race on a Roval utilizing both the Motor Speedway’s banked oval and infield circuit.

Two Races Left to Settle Bragging Rights in Pro/Am

The Pro/Am division’s 2019 has been a tale of two seasons. NOLASPORT’s duo of Hart and Travis won the first five races of the season in their #47 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR. Liefooghe and Quinlan then won six of the next nine races in their #19 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4. Liefooghe and Quinlan hold a slim four-point lead in the driver’s championship over Hart and Travis coming into the weekend, while Porsche holds a slim 10-point lead over BMW in the Manufacturer’s Championship.       

Looking to help BMW close the points gap is Toby Grahovec and Chris Ohmacht in the #92 Classic BMW BMW M4 GT4, while the Flying Lizard Motorsports team of Michael Dinan and Robby Foley will look to help Porsche maintain that lead driving the #21 Cayman CS MR. Looking to play the spoiler role are Colin Mullan and Jarett Andretti entered to drive the #36 Andretti Autosport McLaren 570S GT4 and Marco DiLeo and Ross Smith in the #54 Racers Edge Motorsports Sin R1.

Calvert and Keegan Look to Secure SprintX Am Division Title

In the Am Division, the Panoz Racing team of Preston Calvert and Matthew Keegan in the #51 Panoz Avezzano GT come into the weekend atop the division’s Driver’s Championship standings with 270 points and are in the driver’s seat to claim the title.

Series veterans GMG Racing bring their #2 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR to Vegas for Jason Bell and team principle/driver James Sofronas. Rounding out the Am field are Dmitri Novikov and Anthony Lazzaro entered to run the #64 Rearden Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 and Thomas Collingwood and John Tecce who will co-pilot the #69 BGB Motorsports Group Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR.

Gottsacker and Miller Look to Celebrate their Pro/Am West Title in Vegas

Having already locked up the SprintX Pro/Am West title earlier in the season, Harry Gottsacker and Jon Miller will co-pilot their #28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 looking to pad their already impressive 2019 season stats. ST Racing teammates Samantha Tan and Jason Wolfe come into the weekend sitting tied for second in the championship and will look to make it a 1-2 season for the team piloting their #38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4. They will be challenged for the position by the USRD team of Jeff Bader and Casey Dennis who will drive the #5 Audi R8 LMS GT4 – they sit 19 points behind Tan and Wolfe. USRD also bring their #15 Ginetta G55 for Cody Kishel and Jean-Francois Brunot.

Rounding out the Pro/Am West field for Vegas are Sarah Cattaneo and Owen Trinkler in the #43 Rearden Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4, Alan Brynjolfsson and Trent Hindman in the #77 Park Place Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR, and Patrick Byrne and Guy Cosmo in the #89 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Kozarov and Burton in the Driver’s Seat in West Am Division

Rearden Racing’s driver duo of Vesko Kozarov and Jeff Burton come into the weekend atop the division’s Driver’s Championship with 161 points and with a consistent effort will be able to secure the title. They will pilot the #91 Audi R8 LMS GT4.

Looking for a bit of assistance from the racing Gods is TRG – The Racers Group team of Chris Bellomo and Kevin Woods entered to drive the #67 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR. They sit 24 points behind Kozarov and Burton and still have a shot at claiming the title if the planets align. TRG – The Racers Group also brings their #17 Porsche Cayman GT4 CS-MR for Derek DeBoer and James Rappaport.

GT4 America SprintX and SprintX West teams and drivers get their first official track time starting with practice #1 at Thursday, October 17 at 7 pm PDT. Qualifying begins Friday, October 18 at 4:40 pm local time, with the first SprintX race set for a green flag Saturday, October 19 at 5pm local time.

All SprintX races will be streamed live on gt4-america.com and via audio simulcast on SiriusXM satellite radio Ch. 383 (983 on the app).
