TPC Racing with Dream Racing Shows Pace and Progress with Class Pole and Top 10 Finish at Indianapolis for Alan Grossberg and Dario Capatanio

TPC Racing with Dream Racing and newly crowned 2024 GT America Powered by AWS GT2 class champion Alan Grossberg produced their most competitive performance since moving into the GT4 class of the series at Road America in August in the season-ending race weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMSA). Grossberg claimed sixth place in the first of two GT America races on the 2.439-mile, 14-corner road course within the world-famous “Brickyard” in the No. 102 McLaren Artura GT4, finishing as the top McLaren pilot.

With even less track time in the series under its belt, the TPC Racing with Dream Racing McLaren showed even greater potential in the Pro-Am class of the Pirelli GT4 America series. Grossberg and Pro driver Dario Capatanio teamed for a top ten class finish (15th overall) in the Indy weekend’s first 60-minute contest. And despite getting a limited number of laps in the Pirelli GT4 America effort’s debut at Barber Motorsports Park just four weeks ago, Capatanio earned the Pro-Am class pole for Race 2 and led much of the first half of the race.

With on-track activity now concluded for the 2024 season, the final order of business in Indianapolis for Grossberg and TPC Racing Director of Race Operations Harris Levitas was the SRO America Awards Gala Sunday night. While grateful and excited to accept the laurels for this year’s title winning GT2 campaign, which featured four wins and two additional podium finishes in eight races, their focus is already on 2025 and a planned full-time presence in SRO competition. The season opener is March 28 – 30 at Sonoma Raceway.

Harris Levitas, TPC Racing Director of Race Operations: “This really gives us something to build on. The TPC Racing with Dream Racing team has worked so hard this year, first in the GT2 class with Alan Grossberg, where we were able to clinch the championship relatively early in the season. Switching over to the McLaren Artura GT4 platform to run in GT America and GT4 America has given Alan a lot of drive time, but also allowed us to have Dario Capatanio in the car as our team has developed the chassis and worked on this platform. We’ve adapted to it really well. The car showed what it could do when Dario put it on pole for Race 2 in Pirelli GT4, and Alan had his best drives in the first races of both GT America and GT4 America. It was a great weekend that really rewarded the guys for the hard work and strong results we showed in qualifying.”

Alan Grossberg, Driver – No. 102 TPC Racing with Dream Racing McLaren Artura GT4“I’m happy with the way I drove, especially in the first races. We had some rubbing and some bumps. It’s not fun to get into those kinds of things, but happy with how the car and I performed. I was able to put together a pretty good string of laps. I was consistent from the beginning and got up to speed quickly. For me, it’s just about getting in laps and experience – finding a better line or seeing where good passes can happen. Indianapolis is a great place to race, and not just because of what it is. Everything about the Speedway is special, but also, it’s just a great track to run on.”

Dario Capatanio, Driver – No. 102 TPC Racing with Dream Racing McLaren Artura GT4“Clearly it was a great weekend for us despite some of the results. You hope for more, obviously. But I wish every weekend could be like that – you’re competitive, you’re having fun, and you can actually fight for the win. We are still new to the series, to the rules, and to this car – really, this was my first race in the McLaren. So that was really positive. We are still learning and made some mistakes in the pit stops and the procedures with the car, but that’s part of our learning process. Obviously, I am really, really happy with our pace and impressed by Alan. I think he really stepped up in this race and was competitive with the Am class, which gave me a chance to fight at the top of the field. We showed the potential we could have for next year. Big thanks to TPC Racing and Dream Racing for putting everything together. When everything is new, you have to work way harder than the others to get as quick as the others. Everybody did an amazing job, and I am proud of them.”
