The End of an Era as BimmerWorld’s Postins and Clay Go Out on Top with Third Am Championship

The End of an Era as BimmerWorld’s Postins and Clay Go Out on Top with Third Am Championship

There was nothing routine about this year’s championship charge. For the past four seasons, Charlie Postins and James Clay have been one of Pirelli GT4 America’s most successful and cohesive driver pairings, carrying the No. 36 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 (G82) EVO to multiple Am class championships. But their third Am class title in 2025 was something entirely different, consisting of a season of soaring highs, frustrating lows, and ultimately, a championship that wasn’t secured until the final laps of the year.

Unlike previous years that saw the pairing seal the deal with several rounds to go, this time around it all came down to the final race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and they clinched the title by just one point.

In contrast to their dominant title runs in 2022 and 2023, both of which were defined by seven wins,  five podiums, and major points advantages, Postins and Clay’s 2025 campaign was a showcase of resilience and composure under extreme pressure. The longtime teammates amassed 229 points, anchored by four victories and four runner-up finishes, but their road to the crown was anything but smooth.

Their season-defining moment arrived early with a crucial triumph at the Lone Star Enduro at Circuit of The Americas, where double points propelled them into early title contention. Momentum surged again in the next rounds with a clean sweep at Sebring International Raceway, followed by a celebrated home-race victory at VIRginia International Raceway, reinforcing BimmerWorld’s strength on familiar ground.

But for every high, there also came equally challenging lows. Mechanical issues, attrition, and unavoidable incidents cost the duo valuable points at several rounds, allowing their championship rivals to claw back into the mix. By the time they arrived in Indianapolis for the season finale, the title battle remained wide open.

Although the pressure was at an all-time high, with wet weather conditions only amplifying the risks involved, they utilized the same calm, experienced approach that has defined their partnership for the past four years. They crossed the finish line in second place, but took home first in the standings, further solidifying their legacy.

The 2025 finale marked more than the end of the championship fight, it also came with the conclusion of one of the most successful partnerships in recent Pirelli GT4 America history. After four seasons together, during which they earned a total of 21 wins and 15 podiums, Postins and Clay will now head in different directions.

In many ways, this third championship may be the one they treasure most, as sometimes the greatest rewards are the hardest ones to achieve. It wasn’t done through runaway dominance, but through perseverance and trust in each other’s ability to recover from setbacks, maximize points on difficult weekends, and perform in the toughest of circumstances when it mattered most.
