Advanced Motorsports’ Jonathan Neudorf Claims Overall Pole in Pirelli GT4 America Qualifying at Sonoma

The Pirelli GT4 America field took the green flag for qualifying under the bright California sun at Sonoma Raceway, with a new format introduced for 2026. This season, only one qualifying session featuring a single driver sets the grid for Race 1, while the fastest lap recorded in Race 1 will determine the starting order for Race 2.

At the top of the charts, it was Jonathan Neudorf in the No. 131 Advanced Motorsports McLaren Artura GT4 who claimed overall pole position and secured the Rowe Award.

Silver Class

Loni Unser set an early quick lap aboard the No. 24 Kellymoss Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, but the No. 68 RAFA Racing Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2 soon charged to the front with Westin Workman at the wheel.

The No. 68 led the way in the early stages and mounted another push with eight minutes remaining in the session. But with seven minutes to go, Jonathan Neudorf in the No. 131 Advanced Motorsports McLaren Artura GT4 laid down the fastest lap of the session at 1:41.048, edging the No. 68 by 0.4 seconds. The No. 98 Random Vandals Racing entry of Josh Green rounded out the top three in class.

Pro-Am Class

The No. 90 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4, with Frenchman Jonathan Perichon aboard, showed early speed and climbed as high as fourth overall in the opening stages.

With less than 10 minutes remaining, Matt Travis put the No. 47 NOLASPORT Porsche on top of the Pro-Am charts and fifth overall. Sam Craven then surged to the head of the class in the No. 94 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4, but in the closing moments, it was Allen Patten in the No. 39 Dome Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4 who claimed Pro-Am pole position. Craven finished second, while the No. 47 machine completed the top three.

Am Class

The Am class battle saw the No. 36 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 of James Walker Jr. and the No. 21 ACI Motorsports BMW M4 GT4 machine of Alex Garcia trade the top spot throughout the session.

Garcia moved to the top of the charts with six minutes remaining and stayed there to secure class pole. Walker Jr. settled into second, while Judson Holt posted the third fastest lap in class aboard the No. 188 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4.
